MY GOD IS THE SAME AS YOUR GOD.
As we make God in our own image , I very much doubt that.

I agree truth is beyond debate. It is so hard to know what is true, however, and you must always leave the truth OPEN to the possibility of debate, no matter how truthful it may appear.
The only people who wish truth to be beyond debate are those who doubt the truth they suggest they have. After all, the truth will NOT be disproven, will it?
You apparently make a truth claim about a God existing. You have no proof to your claim, so your claim can be and IS debated and, due to a lack of evidence whatsoever, is highly suspect.

Yes, very beautiful assumption. We do make our own image of god. But isnt the same emptiness?
Still my view of renaming this category holds true.. because
iam not talking about the IMAGE of god.. iam speaking of GOD himself and he is one...only the image changes..
may be it should be rename to
"my god is the same god.. but lets talk about which IMAGE of god kicks ass"
I am poor at english.. so i guess you did understand what iam trying to say.

I dont like to term him GOD. I hate this word GOD. Because it restricts him AS A BEING. God isnt human, duh?
I will like to call him "all knowing". GOD term was coined by christianity.. which i disagree to some extent.
As i said its not worthy to debate the existence of GOD. Because you should HAVE the WILL to see IT.

No it bloody well wasn't.
Poor English I can live with (hell, its not my everyday language either) but total lack of knowledge of history? No way.

I will like to call him "imaginary friend for grown-ups" and as far as the evidence is concerned...we are both right and both wrong.

OP, thanks for the topic.
As far as Ultimate Reality goes, there is only one I am That I Am, one force, one sentient and loving flow of intelligenc and information that is in all of us and all things, collectively sometimes called God. At the Highest level, we are All One--and "we" includes God.
I totally agree, giving God anything like human limitations is to limit the ultimate, the infinite.
God is neither a glorified Santa Claus, who keeps a list of who's naughty and nice and rewards and punishes accordingly, nor the paranoid small-minded tyrant of the Old Testament.
I have read, and accept as true because it resonates so deeply within my heart that God is the whisper of the wind, the warmth of the sun, the incredible individuality and the extraordinary perfection of every snowflake.
God is the majesty of the soaring flight of eagles, and the innocence of the doe in the field; the courage of lions, and the wisdom of ancient ones.
I tell you, God is in every flower, every rainbow, every star in the heavens, and evrything in and on every planet rotating around every star.

thanks :) much appreciate it.. nice poem there.
Now coming back to topic.. i guess there is only 2 things which i want to ask question about, to which no one in this WORLD has an answer. May be we never will.. but what the heck? i think it calls for a debate..
my questions:
1) WHY ARE WE HERE?
2) WHAT IS THE IDEA BEHIND, FOR CREATING MY LIFE OR ENTIRE HUMAN EXISTENCE.
3) WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO HERE?
If the answer to question 3) is that we are here to enjoy the greatness of this planet.. then i have to ask a 4th question.
4) IF ANYBODY COMES IN MY WAY OF LIMITING TO SEE THIS PLANET'S GREATNESS, CAN I KILL THEM?

The appropriate &t answer for all those would be lulz. And surprisingly it doesn't seem like a far fetched answer either.

Good theory is "philosophy of absurdism", according to what i understood, there is NO meaning of life. Iam here at this point of life too..
But according to me.. the only way to acheive FULL "salvation" is to END the world..
I mean the only solution to human problem that we should end this planet..
why? because universe is a ever expanding silent cold thing... as supposed to be in the absurd philosophy, and the only way to acheive the true salvation should be the cold, silent nothingness like the whole universe...
meh.. this shit is complicated.

my questions:

Okay, here's a start. When God created us, first of all, it wasn't so we could live a single lifetime--an infinitesimal period, make the mistakes we would inevitably make, then hope for the best. People couldn't figure this out, kept saying things like "The Lord works in mysterious ways."
The purpose of life--why we were created in the first place--is so that God himself could create and experience who he is on a physical level through all of us, lifetime after lifetime.
Our purpose is to create ourselves--that is, decide who and what we wish to be in accordance with our greatest, grandest, and most noble conception of ourself. In a larger sense, our purpose is to experience ourselves as all of it. We are evolving. We are becoming.
Becoming what? Beats me. We haven't gotten there yet, and we cannot know what we may become until we become it. But the journey is the joy--and as soon as we get "there", as soon as we create the next highest idea of who we are, we will create a grander thought, a higher idea, and continue the joy forever.
Speaking personally, it has been a hell of a lot of fun for me so far.
As far as numer four goes, can you? Probably. In everyday reality, pretty much anyone can kill anyone else--assuming that they are willing to accept the consequences.
But I see no point to this. For one thing, at the highest level, you can't kill anyone--we are all immortal beings--life is eternal. A sinlge lifetime in the context of eternity is less than a single leaf in a great forest.
For another thing, what you posit is impossible. We all create our own reality--the only thing in life that limits you, will ever limit you, can ever limit you, are your own doubts and fears.
There are no villains, no victims. We are the architect of all our own fortunes--and misfortunes.

Hey Arms, could you try and explain to me what you mean by "we create our own reality"?
I heard Nietschze talks about it, but I haven't gotten around to reading or finding a copy of his actual work.
Do you mean we literally create our own reality? Becuase I imagine humanity all has a similar perception of reality... since we have the same senses, brains and such.
We all just have a different outlook. Some more positive, some negative.

And to the OP in reference to the thread title: Can we really trust that our experiencesare any less illusiary than the logic we use in debate?
I mean, out-there pentecostals have experiences all the time. Rolling around on the floor, feeling the spirit of God etc.
Are their experiences to be trusted? Or are they mistaking them for something caused by their own mind through brain chemicals and such?
Can you really trust a 'feeling' as being absolutely correct?

At some point, everyone who works at heir spiritual evolution realizes that we are not in the world--the world is in us. So-called subjective reality is like unto a vast sea of chaotic quantum soup--we ingest tiny bits of it--maybe one part in a billion--and from that, we construct our personal reality.
And in NO WAY do we have the same senses or even same brains. Take some obvious examples--people who are more or less colorblind, people who are tone-deaf or who have perfect pitch. And even within the so-called normal ranges, there is NO WAY of determing, really, what I call "red" is the same color that you call "red." There are ven some tribes who have no separate word for green and blue--to them, the sky and the leaves are the same color.

Do you have a way I can contact you? I have AOL instant messenger. I have had something happen to me, something I am still trying to decipher and understand. I hope that your knowledge can somehow shed some light onto my path. I hope this makes sense. If not, maybe us talking would help you understand what I'm trying to say so that I can get further on the path.
