Again just so you're all in the loop.

Longtime mod and 'mother' of this forum LostCause yesterday asked me to ask Zok to have her demodded due to time pressures in her personal life.

I have given Zok a couple of names of people I think should replace me here. Now its up to him.

Personally I feel this forum only requires two active mods so its possible that Zok/acidmelt will chose not to replace both me and LC.

Once again, please do not fire off 'mod meee' or 'mod so and so' emails as regulars can't really be modded at the moment due to a software problem. MyGod doesn't need 'secret agent' mods.

Thanks for the update.

I await the resolution with bated breath.

Make sure it's someone rational and unbiased.

No extremists.

Someone from whom's posts alone you can't really deduce their faith.

AngryFemme, of course, is a perfect example of this.

Preferably two people of different faiths

That sounds like a good idea.

Possibly two of agnosticism?

Why would someone who posits that God is not only unknown but also unknowable want to even bother?

Good point.

Everyone seems to have pretty hard-lined beliefs in here, in fact, everyone on earth does.

Well, that sucks. Honestly, who the hell are they going to mod then? There's barely anybody good left. This place needs new blood.

Yeah I guess, but there are some people here who are way too deluded and self-absorbed to be able to mod here. Like Rolloffle for example (who I'm still pretty convinced is a troll...)

this board is pretty much controllable, and i think we can trust most of us to self govern ourselves, but if course a mod is required in the event of trolls. as a result i dont really mind who gets it, as long as they keep a fairly open mind about things an respect others opinions, something that isnt hard to do

jack, I just can't stand it anymore, it's driving me crazy - I have to ask ....

what does Wer ko, der ko mean?

I thought it was German and asked my Hungarian stepmother, and she looked at me with a blank stare.

Its Bavarian. In High German it would be 'Wer kann, der kann'.

It means (lit) 'who can, he can'.

So something along the lines of 'I am doing it/ going to do it because I can' or even "Sod you, I'm doing it"

Story is that back in the late 1800's when Bavaria still had a King http://www.orgsites.com/ca/oberlandler/kingl.jpg

(Louie The Loop 2 -if i remember right) it was a law that if the KIng was driving his carriage through the royal park then no other carriage was allowed to overtake him.

One day someone did overtake the royal carriage and as he passed he shouted 'Majestaet, wer kann, der kann'.

Its funny in german, loses a bit in translation.

Its become a bit of bavarian anthem/battle cry/parole.
