I don't understand why so many people think individual names are more important than the real issue at hand.

Is it just me, or does anyone else not give two shits about steriod use in baseball, and think that Congress has much more important things to investigate?

Whatever. I think you will find the same for most professional sports, not to mention the Olympic games. There is no such thing as drug free, just drug tested.

Actually, the MLB commissioner paid for Mitchell to investigate steroid use in baseball so no government money was wasted. The trial of Barry Bonds, however, is a different story and a huge waste of taxpayer money.

Seriously.... Why the fuck is this a matter that must be presented to Congress?

I agree that congress has more important matters that need attention, but I still care about steroid use in baseball and think it needs to be addressed.

I think that its only fitting that the "All american" sport of baseball has rampant cheating and dishonesty.

This is to be expected of an american past time. Drugs and cheating.

Did you also know that every single sports player that is professional ever has done steroids or drugs in one way or another? do you think the 400 pound line man playing football can stay that big even though they practice 8 hours a day....not possible. grow up and realize that everyone does steroids.

There are lots of athletes who can retain their size, even though they (don't) practice for 8 hours a day.

Huh there are skill sports, granted mainly outside of America, you probably wouldn't know them, where to be good at the sport you don't need to be half bear half tractor. Therefore, steroids are not a necessity, and are not a problem.

How bout you give us a little summary on your stance on steroids instead of having us search around a forum we don't go to for something we probably don't care about enough to begin with?

aaron gibson is over 400 pounds or at least he was till recently. steroids are needed to not only be big but to help you recuperate. look at clemens he isn't big. i would say over 80 percent of pro athletes have used steroids one time or another.

Except, he didn't play for two seasons before going to the Bills camp when he weighed 410 lbs and was forced to drop down to 386 and was still 3rd string. He hasn't touched the field since '04 when he weighed 370 lbs. I want you to find a starter that weighs 400 lbs consistently. Not some person who fell off the map and then wanted to come back and was out of shape.

EDIT: Oh and he plays fucking arena football now. That's not the NFL.

Yeah, I bet Doug Flutie took a shit-ton of steroids....the guy has never even drank alcohol.

Why do you say "mainly outside of America"? What sports were you referring to? Chances are, America's got 'em. Maybe not at a premier level, but they've got them.

All I needed to say was one guy. You claimed "every single...". You have just conceded that Doug Flutie is an exception, therefore making your entire argument and life pointless.

Thank you, g'day.

lol thats pretty gay. if you want to argue like that then i can say he did steroids. cortizone is a steroid. All players take cortizone especially a quarter back. so you fail.

How can you verify that cortizone is a steroid?

Regardless, you already conceded that he didn't take steroids. You can't go back on that, or else it just further proves that your word means nothing. In that case, your life is still pointless.

I didn't ask how one could verify how its a steroid. I asked you to. Now, if I answered the question, that would defeat the whole purpose of me directing the question at you.

I'm stripping you of your dignity. General statements claiming every player take the cortisol or cortizone shots is ridiculous. Not everyone needs them.

i dunno i dont understand why its such a witch hunt. they get paid millions and millions of dollars to play isn't it kind of flattering that they spend money out of pocket so that they can be even more entertaining to watch?

and why is it the MLB under the microscope? why not go look at more honorable sports events like the olympics?

Because in the grand scheme of America no one gives a fuck about a sporting event that happens once every 4 years. We care more about the sports on tv that our little kids watch and decide to do what their favorite athlete does.

All my redneck friends are like "Barry Bonds isn't a bad person, even if he did do steroids. At least he's not a fat drunk like Babe Ruth that dipped and did drugs". And I'd say they have a point but I'm against performance enhancing drugs because if you can't do the shit on your own then you need to go do something else with your life because you're fucking up someone else's chance that actually can do it, just not as good as you can when you're on roids.
