Merry christmas everyone! I got a set of 0.001 scales. Lucky really as my dealer borrowed my others a day before the christmas holidays and he lives on the other side of the country (in the holidays.)
New years eve soon too! I made a few basic rockets and fountains but I really dont have the time for anything big or complicated at the moment.
Hope everyone else is having a good christmas! :D

Merry Christmas all!
I got:
*Oxyacetylene welding equipment
*2lbs of 1Fg GOEX black powder
*Homebrew supply money
*Random money
*bookstore gift cards
I got for myself:
*COPAE
*Ceramic chems
*Variac
**Still have an order or 2 or 3 I want to place.
Edit:
I also prepped the cases/quickmatch/perforated disk for 7 3" starmines, I just need to add stars and lift and tie up with a clove hitch. I also have 3 1-3/4" starmine cases in the works and I'm trying to find a perfect former for this weird off size mortar I have that is around 5-1/8" ID to make a big starmine or naphthalene charge or something. I don't think I'll be able to finish and set them off anytime soon, but they are ready none the less.

Decent 50W sub and 15W satellites for my compy, couple of cds and dvds (jimi hendrix, cat stevens), PIHKAL & TIHKAL, new acid-resistant sunnies (my brother bought like forty different brands of the style I liked until he found one that wasn't eaten away by conc HNO3 or SA), and a neo geo arcade machine (Fuck yeah! metal slug on tape cartridges!)
Last year I got coal. Or to be more precise, five kilos of good grapevine charcoal.

They truly do - clearest smoothest trebles and richest bass I've ever heard on a pair of in ear head phones.
And they blank out background noise soooo well :)
All I got for Christmas was a Walmart gift card and a shirt...
So I went and bought myself a Norinco M-14. (http://www.marstar.ca/gf-norinco/M-14S.shtm)
Time to hit the range

Pyro related about all I got was a couple of screens and some storage containers.
As for my self I got a request from my brother: 4" ring shell
Lets break this down here(bad things):
1. I have about 3 days. Give or take an afternoon or morning road hunting for cayotes and black birds and/or other indangered/protected species with dad.
2. Umm I havent every made a successfull ring shell before.
3. I dont have any burst made up because I just got in my KClO4 for KP and I just found something to cook charcoal in so bp on rice hulls isnt any closer to happening either.
4. I have no commercial bp, and ive never got homemade lift to work for me. Im sure it was the charcoal and milling and granulating that never came together right in my biginning years, so I never perfected it. Looked at Creagans charcoal page and decide to make some pine bp for lift hoping that it will work without corning because I dont have time.
Good things:
1. I have stars.
2. Shells are ready for loading. Yes shells, why make one when you can make two? Plus half the stars are for a shell I was planing on making anyways.
3. I always decide to make something about this soon before a date, so Im used to it...kinda....
4. I have a wood stove in my house to dry things by and under. Its the closest thing to the summer heat you can find.
5. I have the burst booster ready if I get the shells together.
6. I have the apropriate space and conditions to shoot em.
So in the 3 days this happened:
-Day 1
1. Dont remember that I did much but fuse shells the first day and hunt and wrap presents. Oh yes I made some charcoal outta jeans and milled it for use as prime on the stars.
- Day 2
1. I made some KP on rice hulls with the correct ratio for once.
2. Found out I forgot the binder in the KP after it dryed that afternoon and must of it turned back to dust.
3. Overwetted the rice hulls while adding in some SGRS, gotta let that dry a bit.
4. Got the rice hulls done late that night and set by stove to dry overnight.
5. Made more charcoal but outta 2x4s and finally got it milled down to airfloat and into the mill with the other bp components about midnight.
6. Bed, been going to long and need the sleep.
-Day 3 (Christmas)
1. Bp got 13hrs mill time, granulated twice after the first time I relised I didnt get it wet enough and it was mostly dust or would soon become it. Set that by stove to dry. Didnt want it under the stove when I was gone as parents decide to go and visit some relatives. It didnt dry much.
2.While it was drying under the stove I tested a alternate of some benzonlift I had laying around on a 400g ball shell. Used 7g but it wasnt enough. Scap that idea, I dont wanna push my shells to their flowerpotting limits with expirimental lift amounts.
3. Got the now dry rice hulls into the shell with the burst booster. And got those taped up and ready for lifting.
4. Lift has dryed and I tested it with a small 1.4g shell I had lying around. Used 1/9th just be sure it would work. Worked fine, only problem is that its been so long since I launched one of those that I couldnt picture if that was its normal height.
5. Cut up some big tube for use as lift cups.
6. Weighed out shells and lift at 1/9th just to be sure of enough height. Added 1g of Ti to the lift of both for a nice signature effect Ive started doing.
7. Oh look I have some Win20 stars laying around that I think I will just use for a rising effect. Last one didnt light so I primed these with two steps and add them to the shells along with quick visco leaders. Didnt have the time to make some BM on my new BM spiny, stringing thing I just got finished in school on teh last day to break.:(
8. Its about 10pm and shells are done. Yah! Now I added some labels and found my mortar and said "lets go shoot these things, Im sick of looking at them!"
I made a single pedal with 1/2" Lancaster Electric Streamer stars. The other was a double ring shell with one ring of some extra LES I had left over from my shell and a ring of a purplish steel and Ti 1/2" stars I made from a mix of colors of skylighter fountain comp. They work fine but burn a bit slow, catalyst helped but not much. Just the blue comp works fine as ive used it before.
I will post a pic and some videos as soon as I get them uploaded. Thansk for reading my rambling.

{see above :)}
Awesome, good luck with everything. Makes me really wish I had a place where I could shoot shells bigger than 2"
How much on average are those shells weighing? And how much lift are you using?
I was using obscene amounts of lift when I was firing off shells; like 15g for a 1.5" shell

The ring shell was 382g and the single pedal was 456g. They both had 1/9th the weight in lift, so thats ~43g and the other was ~51g.

Me and my stepdad went to shoot off some commercial German fireworks, there were even some people who'd set up a display in the middle of a busy intersection!
We had this nice place near a large swamp, group of spectators included!
Went back this morning to pick up the trash, when it was light outside and dew had neutralized any threats.
those mini-torches are great for lighting fuses!

These ones? (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120202026710&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=002) I was thinking about getting one of those but Iv always found that lighting fuses with turblo lighters seems to corrode them very fast for some reason.
