The movies and the anime both end differently and have significantly different plots, so it doesn't matter what order you watch them in.

It would seem that you watch episode 1 first, like any normal TV series.

Or, if you watch another one first, it will automatically be renamed to ep #1 because it is the first one you watch, so it is a neverending cycle.

Don't bother watching it?

Read the manga. Anime versions of manga never meet my expectations.

Watch until you hear the name Near or Mello. That arc ruined the series for me.
