View Full Version : Atheists contradicting themselves

Atheists often like to portray themselves as "unbelievers" but I feel this is not strictly accurate. If they were mere unbelievers they would simply live their lives as if God did not exist. A person who does not believe in unicorns, would not write The End of Unicorns, Unicorns are Not Great, or The Unicorn Delusion. The reason many atheists are drawn to deny God, and especially the Christian God, is to avoid having to answer in the next life for their lack of moral restraint in this one.

More like 156 million. According to the CIA world factbook, only 2.4 percent of the world is athiest. 6.5 billion people. 2.4% of that? 156 million.

no its because the concept of god (which makes no more sense than unicorns) has been constantly forced down the throat of nearly everyone at every moment and in alot of countries disbelief results in genocide or murder. THATS WHY you fucking imbecile.
if everyone kept telling you 2 + 2= 5 wouldn't you like to let people know their wrong?? Especially when the wrong belief results in a fucking horrible world for so many people.
and besides why does denouncing god mean not having to answer in the next life (if there was one) you would still go, you would just be wrong, are you saying there in a state of denial, because im not, at all...I'm atheist and by moral standards of our society I'm a good person so what the hell are you saying? it doesn't even make sense.

Many atheists believe that if there is no God, well I can do anything I want.

Yeah and there are tons of Christians who go I believe there is a god, but who cares I'll do whatever I want, I'll just say its gods plan, gods will, divine right, divine intervention. So whats your fucking point?

Allow me to untangle your web of shit.
The unicorn believers keep to themselves for the most part and do not wish to ban marriages that do not fit their mythological belief structure. They do not try to censor that which displeases them. Most importantly those who believe in unicorns are not the head of a multi-billion dollar tax free industry, that they use to affect governmental policy to force that policy to fit their whismsical beliefs.
The fucking day a church of the Unicorn does these things is the day I as an athiest will tell them to go fuck themselves and the day you will see books such as The End of Unicorns.
The reason I myself am drawn to the bashing Christian god and religion is b/c I live in a country dominated by Christian theists, and they exert control over my life based on their unproven fantastical beliefs. If I lived in India I might tell Hindu's to fuck themselves.
That should about do it for you.
Atheists are atheists because they know religion is nothing more than a social control. It is just a small group of people trying to control a large group of people.

I don't consider myself an atheist because i got stuff i belive in. (Not God)
I said it once and i will again.
Some people need something to belive in.
Something that drives them,
Something that can protect them,
Something that will grant eternal happiness when they die etc.
What do you think would happen if some atheist found
"The Perfect Evidence" that proves that there is no god?
It would be unagueable facts.
What do you think all the belivers would do if something like that happend?
Would they try to ignore the evidence?
Would they simply refuse to belive that there is no god?
Would they comit suicide because their saviour is just a result of their believes?
Many more questions.. no more time :(

Great argument, GatorWarrior.
As usual, name calling and posturing are the weapons of choice by the 'fools'.
They are fools because, well, God says so in the Bible.
Todays Christians are mostly 'weak-kneed' individuals who worship the United States and the Jews, more than anything else.
Because of this, 'real' Christians, as myself, are lumped together with the majority of self described, but false, Christians.
But I try to 'correct' that problem.
Meanwhile, Atheists, homos, abortionists and the likes, do nothing but complain (like their whinny Jew Mafia leaders), even tho things have never been sooo good for them, in the history of mankind.
I wish more Christians would:
Start KILLING more anti-Christian humans...
ESPECIALLY radical queers, hypocrites (like bush), and mealy mouthed lier's from the pulpits of most of todays 'churches'.
The reason I wish and pray these things happen is simple.
Better them, than us.

This post is part of the reason why more and more atheists are speaking up these days.
The simple fact of the matter is, atheists do live their lives "without god." That's what the word "atheist" means. Why do we talk about religion? Why do we constantly shut down your pathetic "arguments"? Why do we defend ourselves?
Because you sodding nitwits won't fuck off.
Religious people constantly weasel their way into positions of power all throughout society, into our governments, and through our governments into our homes.
They hijack the tradition of marriage and then deny it to those among us who are different.
They try to indoctrinate our children with their twisted ideologies before they're old enough to comprehend how wrong that is.
They deny progress by stopping scientific research that could help millions of people the world over, on "moral" grounds that no have no basis in reality.
This is why we attack you, because you attack not only us, but unknowingly even yourselves. You're a threat to humanity's survival, and a holdover from a time when our species simply didn't know any better. This has nothing to do with avoiding responsibility, and everything to do with preventing you worthless cocksuckers from screwing us all over with your petty, inane bullshit.

You're an embarrassment to your religion. If thats the kind of bullshit "real christians" spew, then thank god I'm an atheist.

A real bad one.
The fact is, belief in god affects the lives of atheists in a very meaningful way. Belief in unicorns does not. Hence why atheists are compelled to write books, essays, and conducts debates on the issue of theism/atheist and not on the issue of unicorns.
Simply because atheists spend time writing books about theism, does not in any way mean it's "to avoid having to answer in the next life for their lack of moral restraint in this one". That's a ridiculous allegation.

I really hope you're a troll. Actually, I hope you aren't. I hope you're serious about your anti-antichristian crusade, if for no more reason that when you show up at my atheist doorstep with your torch and pitchfork, I can have the satisfaction of force-feeding you a few slugs from the barrel of my 20 gauge. Better you than me, right?
And to the OP: your argument is pathetic. It really doesn't make any sense. I live my life as if there is no higher power, but I still hold myself to high moral standards. Why would I do that if I'm not worried about heaven and hell and what not? Simple, because I want to be an upstanding citizen that actually contributes to humanity, rather than trying my damndest to keep everyone restricted by a set of arcane beliefs.

that's just a silly thing to say. You don't know me, or any of the people on here for that matter personally, I'm willing to bet.
Not really. More like because the concept of god is ridiculous. Anyone thinking straight could see that. People are trained to be religious. There delusional because of the all the shit they've been told. They think there supposed to be religious. Brainwashing if you ask me.
I work at a bookstore and one of the books I've seen is about a mother who's son committed suicide because he was gay, and according to his church and family that was wrong. Its really just a shameful, pointless waste of life when people die over shit like religion. If you like to get fucked in the ass or give it to guys in the ass its not wrong, its just what you like to do.
I can relate to someone is such a situation because what I like to do (smoke weed) is also condemned by the general public.
You've figured the reason I don't like saying I'm athiest even though I don't believe. As much as Christians and Muslims are assholes, so are athiests. However, athiests haven't been labelled apathetic to it, something I am, therefor I don't consider myself athiest because I'll be labelled as being anti-religous, which I'm not. I'm all for religion. Specifically protestant, because it doesn't try to control your life, while it passes down culture.

you know what the problem with religion is? the people that belive, or dont belive it...and blow things out of proportion and make such a controversial deal out of it. im christian, i belive in God..so what? if you dont like it, thats fine. i have athiest friends and we get along so well when it comes to religious subjects. we agree on so many things, the only difference is i belive in an existance of a God and they dont, but we dont go at each other's throat bout it. its nice to be teased about being a beliver in God without being tooken to the gallows for once, and my athiest buddy dosnt mind i tease him about being athiest
like when he is a stoplight, i go "you know, if you belived in a God, this stoplight would turn green"
of course, i know that God isnt going to turn a stoplight green, but its funny :D
so stop trying to analize athiests, they are who they are, just accept that.

No, because Atheists need to trust the goodness of humanity. We can't just fall back to a god to police us, and since god doesn't exist, god doesn't police anyone.
We KNOW you're capable of waking up, because most of us were in the same place as you at one point. We know what's going on and we're going to stop it or die trying. Any atheist that doesn't try to spread truth at any opportunity they get is betraying themselves and humanity, because if there is one epidemic that deserves to be cured in the 21st century, its theism.

Ummm... for fuck's sakes.. I easily live my life as if a deity did not exist. I venture into these forums every once in awhile to see what crazy ideas the Christians are getting into now. It serves as amusement... amusement that makes me worry for every organism in this world.
