Okay. The afterlife. From my limited understanding on the subject. Basically your life is with you in the physical body/your emotions etc... In the afterlife you either, live life again (wtf) or get moved into another body but it wont be the same, youll have defects or be a completely different person.
Yet other religions say that you'll be "so happy!". Now please explain to me the difference. Obviously this is going to be based on everyones opinion, but please compare, whats the point in living "regular" life opposed to the "afterlife".
Whats so great about it? And what are the cons in being in the afterlife?

First of all, life is eternal--you always were, always will be. What we call "death" is not an end, but transition.
One of the most important things to understand--if you wish to hasten your spiritual growth--is that we create our own reality. Some people choose to live in a mechanistic, materialistic world-- in my reality, free will is absolute. Everything that happens to us is a result of a choice or decision we made--even when that choice was made at a pre-conscious level.
Another thing to realize is that spiritual growth is not only essential, but inevitable. We are all, each and every one of us, on the path to sainthood. There are many things we can do, however, to make the path easier, smoother, less arduous.

Thank you for your reply.
Are you able to "kill" yourself in the "afterlife". The way (at the moment) im seeing it is that life is a never ending cycle (like you said) our choices is what makes life easier to go down the path to transition.
Now would someone go to another world if they committed suicide in the "afterlife", arent there any type of rules?
And if "God" is so great why is he using us as puppets for his amusement. Jf there is a God, heis anything but holy.

If there were to be an intelligence out there.......all knowing and all powerful (at least to us) it would be the equivilant of a Human and a microorganism.
How often do you think of the trillions of microorganisms you interact with on an hourly basis?

No "God" said we were ALL put here for a purpose. So people who are murderers God wanted on this earth for some sick reason. JUST for entertainment, and even if he didnt he knew it'd happen.
The truth is hes been testing out the human race for so many years to advance with another race-- specifically more "perfect" and intelligent other than us.
Life is fucking GTA. You customize your guy, practice on him till your nearly 99.9% perfect, and you win the game. God is just practicing on what we can handle and what we cant. lol gods a fucking retard then considering its taking billions of years to perfect the human race.
Were supposed to be his children. Yet he lets so many people starve, die, suffer from various illnesses each year. Id say hes a self absorbed bastard who thinks hes the shit because he decided to end his life on a cross. Wouldnt you think a father figure would try to give advice, or better yet try and heal his children? Maybe theres too much of us for the holy man to fix. Its like doctors who take on too many patients.

NO...the Bible says he put everyone here for a purpose. It also said a lot of other fucked up, false and contradictary things.
God does not exist.

"The afterlife" is nothing but nonsense made up by religious people to fight their fear of death. They figure they can simply live another life because they have this supposed 'soul' or 'spirit', which is just more nonsense. All of these ideas are from ancient civilizations, such as the egyptians, and thus transferred to various religions, yet there is ABSOLUTELY NO evidence for any of this garbage. Life is simply a complex series of biological and chemical processes, that will eventually end for every being and it doesn't continue in some magical realm.

I won't get into a debate over free will, but just because one believes they live in a world with x characteristic, it does not make it so. I can believe that the world is mechanistic and controlled by a 5 armed chicken, but it will not make it so. Reality just IS, you can't choose it.

What IS spiritual growth?? For there to be such a thing, first (it would seem) you'd have to have this supposed 'spirit' which is completely unfounded.

LOL...
Could not tell that from your posts....all of them on this page that is. Seems like you think god exists and are very, very, very angry with him. Be more clear about where you stand next time.

Well i belive you got something right there.
Life, a never ending hell.
The Universe will expand, then it will collapse back on itself, then it will expand again. It will repeat this process forever.
Every mistake you make you will live through again and again forever.
Everything will be exactly as it is now.
You will be who you are, and i will be me.
Life, a never ending hell.
Its what i belive in anyway.
Sure, it sucks.
But thats just the way it is.

God does not exist.
Prove it! Now YOU'RE the one making the claim.

Can't PROVE a negative non-falsifiable claim silly. It's like me saying 'an invisible dragon inside my stomach does not exist' - it simply can't be proven or disproven. But it would be quite silly to believe it on just faith.

Consciousness is not something that actually exists as some entity. It is simply a label we give to our overall experience, which comes together through our senses and thought, all of which are dependent on the brain. When the brain loses functionality, our experiencing ceases to continue.

Can't PROVE a negative non-falsifiable claim silly.
Which is why saying "there is no God" is a silly claim.
And on the invisible dragon front. There very well may be an invisible dragon in your stomach, but since that has nothing to do with answers that are being sought, it's pointless to consider such things. The concept of God (Whichever idea of God you wanna use) does provide answers being sought (origins of life for example), which is why it is worth considering.

It is not a silly claim. Proving God is a believer's burden.
Believers in God have the burden of proof. Until that burden is met, making a claim like "Your full of shit, there is no God" is just common sense.
The invisible dragon is the same. If I tell you I have an invisible dragon, you telling me to prove it is not silly. It is just practical. Since I make the claim of an invisible dragon it is on ME to prove it, I have the burden of proof.
Let us not forget, That which is put forth without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.
You have as much proof for god as I do for my ability to kill people with a single thought alone? Do you believe me without evidence? TRULY?

Exactly, and you "Believe" there is no god. Being the one with the belief, providing proof is down to you if we are to acknowledge it.
The invisible dragon is the same. If I tell you I have an invisible dragon, you telling me to prove it is not silly.
I wouldn't tell you to prove it. If I didn't believe I wouldn't even care.
You have as much proof for god as I do for my ability to kill people with a single thought alone? Do you believe me without evidence? TRULY?
No, I have as much proof of God as you do that there is no God. In other words, we both have none. Which is why I don't say there is a god, and why I don't say there isn't a god.

That which is asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. My disbelief is not the same as belief, in this regard.
I wouldn't tell you to prove it. If I didn't believe I wouldn't even care.
What if I forced you to pay for the upkeep of my dragon or carry out his will? Would you care then?
No, I have as much proof of God as you do that there is no God. In other words, we both have none. Which is why I don't say there is a god, and why I don't say there isn't a god.
Okay so your agnostic, you ride the fence. Good for you. I demand evidence for assertions or I dismiss the assertion. I choose not to believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy and the Easter Bunny as well. Do you "believe" there is no Tooth fairy? Or do you ride the fence on that one as well?
How about Peter Pan's notion that thinking happy thoughts will make you fly? It could work according to you. Give it a try. What if I told you if you shit your pants in front of a mirror at midnight you turn invisible, but I cannot show you or I will be stricken blind. You going to shit your pants tonight?

I must remain agnostic on that issue, but I wouldn't argue wth you.
I have no doubt, however, that it can be done. Maybe by you, maybe not by you. . . .

1: You asserted that "there is no God", which without evidence I can dismiss.
2: We are not talking about your disbelief that there is a god, we're talking about your "belief" that there is no God. If you can't provide evidence that there is no God, then your best stance would be to acknowledge that there "could" be a god.
What if I forced you to pay for the upkeep of my dragon or carry out his will? Would you care then?
No, but I would laugh my ass off.

1: You asserted that "there is no God", which without evidence I can dismiss.
2: We are not talking about your disbelief that there is a god, we're talking about your "Belief" that there is no God. There is a difference.
I do not assert there is no God, I dismiss a theists (here is the important bit) ORIGINAL assertion there is a God until evidence is provided to back up that assertion.
I do not have to have evidence to dismiss the ORIGINAL assertion b/c no evidence was put forth to back it up. It is foolish and not needed for one to come back with "Well then, I do the same to you...you don't have any evidence that there isn't a God". That, again is b/c I DO NOT need ANY evidence to DISMISS the ORIGINAL assertion.
I do not expect you to believe this b/c I believe you wish to argue based on you stating that you would not care if I forcibly took your money in the name of my invisible (unprovable) dragon. I believe you were being dishonest when you said that, for the sake of argument.
Luckily for us, You do not have to agree with me for this to be right and I assure you it is.

You are agnostic. Maybe, maybe not, huh?
If you do not send me 200 dollars by mail in one month, I will kill you with my thoughts.
Now this is interesting.....if I showed up in your driveway in the morning, and I told you I have a gun in my pocket and will shoot you unless you give me your money.....maybe I do and maybe I don't have a gun.....but I do have a nervous junkie twitch and an air of desperation, and you do not know me, I am almost certian you would give me the money? You certainly have no doubt guns are real same as you have no doubt people can kill others with thoughts, right?
So how strong are your convictions that person can kill another with a mere thought? Is your life worth 200 bucks? I will not accept a check, cash only. You have 30 days.

I do not assert there is no God
God does not exist.
You really are sad.
Beany is right. There's a difference between dismissing the original assertion as unsubstantiated ("I don't have to believe X because you have failed to support it"), and claiming the opposite ("The opposite of X is true").
