How would one go about digging them up?

Mines are weapons... something that doesn't belong in BB... your looking for WEAPONS AND COMBAT.

... and you wouldn't dig one up. If you knew where one was you would do the responsible thing and inform the local bomb squad... then ask to watch them blow it up.

long thin stick, probe ahead at very shallow angle, so that you will find them by hitting their sides, then carefully dig around it and lift.

HOWEVER
What some armies do, is place an anti-personnel mine below the anti-tank mine. When the tank mine is lifted, the other detonates / bounces in the air and detonates. Almost impossible to detect due to the smaller shape, and very difficult to avoid even if you know its there. Throw rocks.

Oh and if your saying that you know where one is and your going to attempt to recover it yourself... we will track down your ass... maybe before... maybe after notifying the authorities.

Do the right thing. Call the bomb squad to do what you give them your tax dollars for.

This is a bad idea, but they won't take questions about explosives.

I'd consider moving it to HB in respect to the length (or rather lack thereoff) of the first post, but that won't do anything either.
