Why are fighters such as Shogun, Crocop, and Wanderlei getting pounced by UFC fighters? Crocop's leg should be casted in steel and we could send him to iraq and wouldnt even need our troops; but he catches a face full of shin and gets knocked the fuck out, the second fight was just a shame, i wont even go into it.
Wanderlei is an animal, theres no other way to explain it. This guy prepared so well for his fight. His conditioning was borderline inhumane, and still he got beat by "the iceman".
Why the hell are these guys loosing to commercial fighters such as chuck? I was hoping to see Fedor coming to the UFC, but after all these pride upsets id rather not go through the pain of seing Mr. Emelainenko with his eyes rolled to the back of his skull.

1. It's kind of stupid to say one org. is better than the other(even though pride was slightly better in terms of overall talent in its day). Fighters are fighters, some better, some worse, and when you have a bunch of pride fighters entering the ufc there will be varied results, some surprising, some expected, just as with mma in general, regardless of organization.
2. The octagon is different, and it'll be an adjustment for anyone to come to a different country and fight in a cage and not a ring. Considering how the Chuck Wandy fight went, I'd put my money on Wandy for a rematch once he gets some octagon experience. Also, whether you call 'chuck' a commercial fighter or not is beside the point, he's still a top lhw, despite two losses, that just sounds like the talk of a biased pride fan.
3. All in all pride fighters are dominating the ufc. Nogueira, Rampage and Silva all have belts, with Henderson being the toughest opponent Silva will have faced yet. Hell I bet Hayoto Sakurai would have a good chance of taking the ww belt if he came into the ufc.
4. Fedor is a different breed than Wandy, Cro Cop etc. People talk about his place as #1 hw being questionable, yet he's defeated more current top 10 heavyweights than any other fighter, he's never been beaten except for cut stoppage from an illegal elbow, where he dominated a rematch. Not to mention, he's won two very convincing decisions against nog, the ufc heavyweight champion. I just don't see who could beat him, give me a name and I'd disagree. All Fedor needs to do, is fight Randy, Barnett and maybe someone else like Arlovski, win those fights, retire and solidify his position as the greatest fighter ever. Also, if Fedor does lose in the future, I have a feeling it will be against a striker who trains specifically to cut the forhead with elbows and have the fight stopped.
Good answer?

Exactly what I said about Crocop. Gonzaga was a wildcard and unheard of until he faced Crocop, and look what happened.
I wouldve argued a possible loss against Randy, but the man is old now. Beside him, I dont really see a threat to Fedor in the HW division. What I was actually asking probably cant even be answered, I was wondering whether these UFC fighters are just flat out better, getting lucky, or if Pride fighters are just too far out of their element to perform at their Pride level.

Crocop isn't really that dominating as people (the media?) make him out to be. He just has highlight reel finishes that come out of no where so people make a huge deal out of it. Like during the Gonzaga fight, it was made apparent before that he has a glass jaw, and his ground game is fairly poor.
That being said, I did expect him to do a lot better then he is in the UFC. What made me most upset was Shogun and Griffin... I really did not see Griffin winning that match in any way.

^Yea, my thoughts about Cro cop, he's a great fighter, but not the unstoppable force people made him out to be, I mean he got knocked out by Kevin Randleman, a wrestler, it was a fluke, but still. Shogun was a surprise, but he's the best example of a fighter that will have to adjust to the ufc. In pride he used a lot of knees on the ground, soccer kicks, and flying stomps, all of which are illegal in the ufc, aside from the whole ring, cage difference. Plus Forest was probably more prepared for that fight than any other in his career.
As far as answering your question about who is better, just look at #3, it might not be everyone we expected, but they're still dominating the UFC, after only being in there for about a year. Nog, Rampage, Silva, and possibly Hendo, all have belts, which is the top 3 weight classes out of six. This is after only about a year of Pride fighters being in the ufc, that sounds like a pretty good argument for a pride fan to me.

Atmosphere is the third man in the ring and the most over looked. if you watch the pride fights the crowd is very quiet and respectful. it is very overwhelming and alot of the fighters from pride have never experienced western civlization so when they come out to 10000 screaming drunk americans it is shocking and they can experience an adreline dump.
That is not the only reason the rules require diff. training and some fighter dont like to change what has been working. also the cage is a big part of the equation a good fighter can and will use it as a tool to wear a foe down.

No, the ref is the third man in the ring, atmosphere is the 4th-10,000th!
