hey guys.

how do i expand my knowledge into psychology, philospophy, anthropology, theology,

right now im in highschool, i take legal studies, economics, hospitality (i like to cook), geography, and automotive at tafe (community college in the US)

what are some of the best ways to get into it?

is getting a stimulus endorsed textbook and studying that the best way to do it?

Reading text books is boring.

Go to a book store/library and find books on particular subjects(or overviews of the subjects that would be vastly superior to a textbook) and read those. Read books written by philosophers or theologians that interest you.

There will be plenty of time for text books later in life.

Totse. Seriously, you can find discussion on these topics here all the time, and if that fails, use the knowledge thread, or googlevideo/youtube, learning is always more fun when it's visual. There are also free education sites like ,http://www.jimmyr.com/blog/0_Free_Education.php or www.freeuniv.com which are ordered more like real courses so you get prepared for the college experience, but ultimately learn less of what you want (if you legitimately love learning though, you should probably skip around until you find something with a structure that you like). I'm learning organic chemistry right now through this site (http://webcast.berkeley.edu/courses.php), as part of a self-directed knowledge experience. There's more than enough information out there for you, you just have to find it. Utah State University open courseware (http://ocw.usu.edu/front-page/courselist) is an amazing resource (it let me get my AS, lawl), especially for beginners; but you'd have already figured that out had you gone to my first link. Only you can tell yourself how you want to expand your mind. N_C is right though, a textbook will teach you, but it's very boring and you'll probably wish you hadn't by the time you're finished.

Specifically what type of mind expansion are you looking for and what's your skill level?

EDIT: http://education.jimmyr.com/ is another version of the first link, mostly just different organization.

I agree--read some primary sources, not text books (especially for philosophy). Hop over to Humanities and check out the thread "G0atse My Mind."
