hahaha....gotta read this:
"These beliefs typically enter public schooling through counseling programs, self-esteem, stress-reduction, health and gifted programs, creative writing classes, some global education courses, and some literature curricula. "
and
"It can be established that there are genuine risks and liabilities for both school and children if teachers, unlicensed as mental health professionals, are involved in administering speculative or unproven therapeutic techniques which may later result in psychiatric problems. This may be considered malpractice. "

The Powers that be believe though its very real we are in need of spirituality but NEW AGE is bull crap it feeds the ego not the spirit. New Age stuff is things similar to the oh so popular cult documentary "The Secret." New Agers will embrace it because, people seek empowerment albeit a false sense of empowerment.

Better than the nationalist wars and shit...seriously, look at Germany (well the German Empire) in the 1880s and then the Republic of Germany in the 1980s...or better yet, look at Germany 1940 vs 1980
just remember you are an animal in nature just like the ones you see in the forests
we all have our dark side

People need to some degree a belief in something Spiritual... The New Agers feed the Ego, they say YOU ARE GOD, YOUR THOUGHTS CONTROL THE OUTCOMES OF THINGS, YOU CAN HAVE ANYTHING YOU EVER WANTED... All of this is grabbing the attention of the Ego, not the spirit, it does not transcend the physical with these new age-y cults.
My body is an animal in nature, not my being... Albeit most have been made ignorant of this fact, at least according to what I believe.

I think you're confusing the new-age and indigo children with Existentialism

There is a difference in spiruituality and being christian :\
In terms of spirituality, most christians are about a lvl 5 rogue.
The self is a large part in spirituality.
New age is pretty high on the spirituality chart. Maybe a lvl 60 warlock.

Last time I checked the existentialist was awfully skeptical about The Secret... Thats the Secret a New age Movement. I would know Existentialism because, Gnosticism was the root of existentialism and that root is what i am....

The Scret is, to me, mildly offensive on many levels--mainly because it is more about markerting than metaphyasics.
Plus, it is NOT secret, never was, and there is nothing new about it, as there are Biblical references to much the same thing.

What is existentialism, btw?
My feelings about New Age Movement:
Now personally, when I first heard of the New Age, I thought it best summed me up. I learned about it roughly when I was 15 (probably on Totse?)... But it is all materialistic and... just another fucking religion. They sell crystal balls, thousands of garbage books (not to say ALL of the books are garbage), snake oil feel-good-inc. shit, and a HUGE amount of unverifiable and unpractical information. One of the people pissing me off is Sylvia Browne, who said a lot of shit about angels (names and shit) and a lot of data that makes me wonder how she got this information? Made it up? Or if she astral projected, how do we know this information is made up by some prankster spirits, etc.? The other thing - EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS for a fucking phone session with her (actually, with many new age assholes). Give me a fucking break - this is Scientology-lite scamming. My intuition is telling me people like her are taking advantage of others. Isn't spirituality the opposite of materialistic desires? Then shouldn't spiritualistic session be free?
