I'm really excited for this fight. I think Dan Henderson is better than Silva in every aspect except striking, and Silva is arguably the best, most technical striker in mma today. Henderson is still a good striker with knockout power, but I really don't think he wants to stand and trade. That said, even though Silva has dominated the ufc, he has done it in their weakest division, and Henderson is waaaaay better than any other fighter Silva's faced in the ufc. I'm rooting for Henderson but feel that if he gets cocky and decides to stand he'll lose.
And Kongo's going to beat up Herring. Arlovski should be fighting Kongo instead, but he's getting screwed with an undercard fight since it's the last on his contract.

It's too bad Kimbo and Lesnar get more attention than a fight between two of the best p4p fighters in the sport today. Cmon people, lets hear opinions.
I think you're underestimating Hendo's stand up. He has that knock out power that you spoke of, but he's got a fair bit of technical skill as well. Silva's is no joke, yet he wasn't this dominant of a fighter until he came to UFC, him verse some good competition will be interesting.
My head is telling me Hendo.
Why do you equate stand up fighting with 'stand and trade'?

Fair enough, I guess the clinch is going to be a huge part of the stand up for both fighters. Although aside from getting in the clinch or trying to go for a take down, I can't think of anything else Henderson can really do while standing up other than trade shots, unless he's constantly backing off, which he probably won't be doing.
Who do you think will win Sambob?

Henderson gonna own Silva. While he was fighting the top 205s in PRIDE and winning, Silva was getting dominated by cans like daiju takase, and fly heel hooked by semi-good fighters like ryo chonan.

My prediction.
Henderson by decision
Kongo by tko
My prediction- Henderson will go for the clinch and take Silva down. Silva's main weakness in the past has been takedown defense. Silva then gets Henderson in a body triangle or guard, and uses his jiu jitsu to disable Henderson's chances of hurting him on the ground. Continue until end of round or silva pulls some escape or reversal, repeat until Henderson gets frustrated or overconfident and turns to stand up striking(which he has shown to do in the past and has said he is willing to do in this fight). Silva turns it into a boxing match and gets a TKO victory.
It's really just a matter of how well Silva can defend himself on the ground until he can get on his feet again. It will also be interesting to see how Dan's greco roman clinch does against the muay thai clinch.
Silva won, and still can't seem to get out of the 2nd round. We'll see more from Hendo. Silva has defiantly improved but he's still not best pound for pound fighter, they seem to say that for everyone on a 4+ winning streak.

Yeah but the people with the 4+ streaks didn't blow away 2 champions in 2 rounds.
Wow, Silva really is unstoppable.
I can't see where the middleweight division goes from here, Silva has smashed everyone even remotely threatening in it, the only guy left is Okami, who will probably get the title-shot after his win over Tanner, but he's not in the same league as Silva.
I heard Wanderlei Silva is going to drop down to middleweight though so it could at least liven up the division, especially if he gets a rematch against Hendo.

I don't know, I haven't seen either of these guys fight in the past couple of years.

Silva talked about dropping down to welterweight which i think is fucking bullshit. He should go up a class if hes going to try and prove himself in a new division. The Koscheck and Konga fights were brutal. I laughed when Konga didnt square up and Henderson ran at him and clocked him in like the first 2 seconds of the match.

Uh, no, he's not. Plain and simple. Might the guy beat SOMEONE? Sure. But to be considered a legit contender, you've got to be one of the 10 best fighters in a division.
How can you even say ANYTHING about him? He's only fought once, and he lost against a guy who has a TERRIBLE record in the past couple of years. Only beating bums, and getting beaten by a couple of them.
Neither him nor Mir looked impressive, or even 'good' at all.
OH and btw don't listen to any of those idiots saying that Lesnar was beating Mir's as and Mir got lucky or something like that.
The only actual good clean fighting that happened was the end of the fight, when Mir scored a submission. The first 2/3 of the first were just Brock wasting a lot of energy on arm punches on the ground, and being able to bully around Mir because of his size/weight/strenth advantage.
When it came down to it though, on the ground, where Lesnar was supposed to be best, he was EASILY beaten.

Who was standing, what are you talking about? He was submitted on the ground. Or are you saying he was supposed to be good standing up?

He was standing when he was caught in the lock.
