It's as simple as this, a couple years back when the anime was being released, I watched til episode 21 or so and thought it was pretty decent, nothing special. A couple years later, I pick up manga more than anime and so I decided to catch back up with Air Gear since I never finished.

Holy shit, it became deep and twisted... people getting killed, Air Gear being more than just a sport? Wow, what in the hell.

Then finding out the best Air Gear players are actually created for the Tropheuam(SP?) Tower project, aka gravity children.

Then Akito/Agito formed a new personality called Lind who's like a super gravity child. Ikki becomes the Sky King only to lose it very quickly to the betrayal of his idol Sora who taught him everything he knew.

And what the fuck, Sora could walk all along!?

Ikki becomes the Storm King and sets out on the Hurricane road with Kururu (genius mechanic) to help make his new Regalia. Kazu becomes the Fire King after the death of Spitfire at the hands of Sora and his twin brother Nike.

The whole story got deep, the art is amazing, I'm impressed and hooked now. Too bad they only animated so much, I would have loved to see those fights animated.

What can I expect from Oh! Great? He's probably written the most complex manga I've ever read, Tenjou Tenge. Deepest too.

I think the latest release is 195, after Agito/Akito's third personality, Lind, is revealed.

Genetically created children, apparently. They were raised in a zero gravity environment. Weird stuff like this, it's so crazy.

Its probably my favorite manga atm.

Bit hard to understand though, I end up reading and re-reading the chapters over and over again.

I just wish it would come out faster, though beggars cant be choosers.

I just wanna see how Ikki's Storm Regalia turn out. And how they stand up to the others, and how Mikan fights, and how Killick is connected to Kaito and how the whole storyline will resolve itself.

Being an Oh Great! manga, you can expect massive art and complexity... I'm surprised he turned something of what I thought was a sports manga so off the wall.

I'm still amazed how Ikki was given the title of the Storm King with the Hurricane Road. Obviously he's also a gravity child which is supported be being given to the family who grew up in by that certain "uncle". But is he the ultimate one and not a reject like most of the others are? Kururu will make one badass Storm regalia for him. I can't wait to see it all unfold.
