Well, I'm from New Jersey and I've been here my whole life. My dad and I are really close but he has alcohol problems and he's been in jail for quite some time. He got out at the end of last summer and we've slowly been building our relationship back up. He's a great guy, and extremely down to earth.
Edit- Fucked this up, I'll edit in a bit.
Basically I'd like to know what everyday life is like in South Carolina compared to New Jersey.
Why Myrtle Beach? It's a town that gets flooded with tourists. The fishing isn't even any good there...
Now, if you move a little south or north of there, within spitting distance of the grand strand, you get the atmosphere, lower prices, and fewer tourists.
Myrtle Beach is a nice enough place, but only for the five days a year max I spend there.
I'm sure it's cheaper down there, though. Everything is cheaper in the South than in the North, it seems.

Yeah in my original post (before I fucked it up) I stated that we were most likely going to move south of Myrtle Beach in a place called Pauly's Island.
Pauly's Island is a nice place. I've been through there. I have no idea what it would cost to live there, though.
It's far enough from Myrtle to not be swamped with tourists 24/7, but not so far that you miss out on the clubs/fireworks/puttputt/whateverelseisthere.
Anyway, SC is a pretty cool place, I guess. I can't think of any real problems with it. It's the South, so the weather is pretty agreeable, and the food is greasy and in great quantity.
