my school is on quarters, so each class is usually 5 hours each, and people generally take 3 per quarter. i took 16 fall quarter (3 classes and a 1 hour freshman survey class), and 13 in the winter (two 5 hour classes and one 3 hour course). seems like i could handle 20 hours and 4 courses, which would be like taking a whole extra quarter after you add things up for a year.

what do you guys take? anyone taken more than 20 hours?

I've done 18, 19, 18, and 19 in my first four semesters.

Starting next year I'll be expected to take at least 17 hours every semester, not including summers for my remaining three years of classes(assuming I get into Pharmacy).

Here's a general outline of what's supposed to be my ideal schedule for my next three years:

15-16 per semester. I try to balance our humanities and electives with sciences and maths.

The maximum allowed, since after all I'm paying for it with tuition.

I recall four of them showed up in a shroom thread in BLTC one time and arranged a get-together.

How many hours of class you take per week, though it often either exceeds or is below the actual number.

For example, I take 19 now.

3- OChem
4- Anatomy
5- Physics
3- Ancient History
3- Managing Diversity in the Workplace(online)
1- OChem Lab

Now, OChem, Anatomy, Physics, and History I spend the listed hours in class. However, my online class I maybe spend 3 hours doing per month. On the other hand, my one hour lab lasts 4 hours, so there's a definite trade off.

yeah, i hate how they don't give you all the credit for labs. i don't understand that. i guess so you're allowed to fit another class into your schedule...but for me, chem labs took the most out of class time, with prelab work and lab reports...blahh.

my school's pretty generous with rounding up when it comes to class time and credit hours though. a 5 credit hour class that meets five days a week really only meets for 48 minutes a day, not 60. one that meets twice a week goes an hour and 48 minutes, not 2 and a half hours each, and with the longer classes, the professors usually let you out 10 minutes early.

Most I've ever had was 25 (first semester, first year) but I'm currently down to 16.
Unfortunately, it now requires much more work at home.
