The sad thing is that all the guys I know who watch anime talk like that. That's why I don't have any friends to watch anime with.:(

No, I'm not sad for me. I'm sad for the world, which has to endure them.

I don't get why everyone that posted a comment about it thought it was so funny. Am I missing something because I didn't even crack a smile. Most of the comments I read made me snicker a bit, but not the picture itself. Huh. Maybe it's just me.

the picture made me snicker as they used desu, noko, and somethign else I forgot that is associated with the *Chans (you write noko in the email field to stay on a thread after you post there) and desu is that meme comine from Rozen Maiden the channers spread.

Oh, and the 'Yaoi' and 'Kawaii' hehe.

just try to know them. They're not as bad as they seem.

Yes, they are as bad as they seem. I cannot carry on a conversation with them because they speak in some weird combination of english, broken japanese, and internet slang.

God damn it, it is not necessary to use the words "lol," "pwned," "kawaii," or "sugoi" in normal conversation. I mean, I can understand slipping it in ever once in a while, but when every sentence sounds like "Zomg, Chiyo-chan so kawaii!!!! ^___^" It makes me mad.

I can comprehend it perfectly well. It's as dialect. It'd be cool to see that. The people in my school don't do that. At least not as far as I can see.

do you have a link to a vid of that? :D

I don't know why everyone cares about who associates with what anime, and why they label someone as a "fanboy".

Even if you are bringing to attention how annoying someone is because they really like anime, or because they seek attention through it all; you really are no different by bitching about it.

Seriously, if you don't like the way someone does something, you don't have to sit there and listen to them. There are millions of people in the world and their personalities vary person to person.

Gah, it just makes me angry when I see someone complaining about anime nerds when they could just ignore them. Everyone always needs to put in their fifteen cents and be acknowledged.

This is anti-weeaboo faggotry.

If you have an interest in a language, then explore it.

You've never experienced the pain of listening to 19 year old otakus ramble on about their favorite Japanese verb and its relation to Naruto.

You've never experienced the pain of listening to 19 year old otakus ramble on about their favorite Japanese verb and its relation to Naruto.

Then learn it on your own if you're interested. There are plenty of tools available if you want to learn. I've been dabbling in it a bit myself, if for no other reason than to be able to comprehend untranslated works I find of interest as well as what gets lost in translation.

I don't affiliate myself with otakus, trekkies, or any other type of extremely neurotic people that broadcst their eccentricities like a neon sign.

Keep your distance and do your own thing and you should be alright.

If you have no interest in the language, then that's all the reason you need; not some retarded fanbase you don't associate with.

When people spout off random shit like that midsentence, I like to continue the conversation fully in japanese. After that, I like to mix words from various other languages in there.

Being a fan of something is not a bad thing, even for the reasons tons of japanese fanboys/girls are the way they are...

However, acting the way these people do is an abomination.

That's the truth. It's cool if they want to act like that with their friends or whatever, but in a school or work setting, it gets really old really fast.

that's a different language. Internet Slang, New English Words and words Borrowed from Japanese. I think the closest definition to that is a pidgin, or a creole. Not sure, I'm not a linguist

Don't go to Anime conventions :p

Languages containing borrowed words usually happen gradually over time, unintentionally. They're usually not forced upon the masses by a bunch of faggots who wish they were anime-ninjas.

And yeah, I live in Seattle... I go to PAX every year and glare at the Sakuracon spillover.

IIRC the "Weeaboos" have been existing for a while, the "Narutards" are a newer version of them. And I think it is unintentionally, for example Pwned was an unintentional version of Owned. Many of the Netspeak is that.

cool, I'm hopefully going to ACEN :D
