I just finished watching this documentary, and I must say, it was the scariest thing I have seen in a while. It focused on a summer camp for kids run by a Pentecostal minister.

By the end of the movie, the minister was listening to the radio. A Christian fundamentalist was rambling on about something, and I heard him say "Liberalism is dead."

I immediately made the connection to a work titled "The Political and Social Doctrine of Fascism", where the author claims liberalism is dead, and individual rights are worthless, as the real purpose of people is to glorify the state.

The author of that work is Benito Mussolini.

I now realize how authoritarian and fascist the Evangelical movement truly is.

Comments?

ps. What the hell is going on with Totse? It is down all the time.

Trying to find spirituality in a church is an exercise in futility.

That's true. Religion won't stop boats from running into rocks or provide a cool place for an antisocial person to live.

I lol'd hard at that scene.

I also lol'd at the fact that camp is called Kids on Fire and is located in/near Devil's Lake, NJ.

Fear not the fundamentalist evangelical or "Fundagelicals" These people are just as closed minded as the materialist, in fact the pastors are spiritual materialist what a way to capitalize on something that transcends physicality.

There the puritans of our day, history repeats itself... I seem to remember the Zealots who fought against Roman Occupation in Israel, there "religious fanaticism" was met with the might of secularism, yet secularism and religious fanaticism was destroyed soon afterwards. Now secularism is returning and so is this more intense non-violent resistance movement of religious fundamentalism so the same will follow suit and both will be destroyed...

Someone once said that fascism would come into America with The Bible and Flag (Representing: Christian Fundamentalist Right and Nationalism)! I don't believe in religion as a way to God but rather Spirituality... Its a private path between you and God and if you believe in God as so many say they do than they should act appropriately to it (most dont because, they are hypocrites).
