I have found this document while I was organizing my PC but I don't remember where I did get this document, maybe in a forum...i don't know, I just want to know if someone here knows if this process really works cause it's a very simple process and the chemicals used are accessible to almost everyone.

Thanks

Yes, it worked, it worked even without the heating. HNO3 is made in-situ.

I tried made some today, and you really needn't heat the solution, after you add the HCL the solution start fizzing and after some minutes you can see crystals forming in the surface....I got 80 grams of these crystals, don't know if it's a good yeild...how much AP is need to detonate this amount of UN ?

A pic of the crystals:

Without reading, I'm assuming this is just standard ammonium nitrate / HCl / urea... A prominent roguesci member pointed out on occasion that it was a trivial procedure to make nearly a kilo at a time. I have wanted to try it for quite a while... but more for conversion to nitrourea and interesting reactions from there to other species that are generally energetic.

assuming as Na and K are alkalai metals with nearly equal electronegativity and ionization energy would you be able to do this with KNO3?

Edit: K has a lower IE than Na so I'm thinking that it would possibly speed the reaction up?

would this be endothermic because im assuming that as heat is required (albeit very little) its got positive enthalpy.

well math answered that question, got a nice calculator today!

Please can someone tell me how much AP I need to detonate 80g of UN ? and mixing some aluminium powder with the UN really helps with the detonation ?
