Many threads I have seen in this forum ask a lot of questions about "why some things in the bible are a certain way" or "why do things in the bible contradict themselves". Some of the questions could have been solved before hand had you read more or all of the bible before attempting to come to conclutions about things. I'm not saying to believe this or that, all I'm saying is, before posting an idea or asking a question, make sure you are working with all of the information first and not just part of it. For instance, would you read half a page of instructions on how to put something together, then go on the internet and ask, "why the hell doesn't part A fit to part B"? Perhaps If you had read the instructions, from the top of the page to the bottom, in order...You would already know the answer........

This goes for anything, not just religion. Know what your doing before you just jump into something.

God raised the Pharaoh, hardened his heart, for the sole purpose of displaying his power to mortals. Healing every sick, hungry or insane person on Earth all at once would display this power as well, if not greater.



19One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" 20But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "[h] 21Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?



This whole passage here says "I made you, you are mine, I will do whatever the fuck I want to your mind, body and spirit, and DONT YOU DARE question me, mortal."

Taking this all in context God says "Look, some people I have a purpose to put on this Earth just to torture, to show everyone how tough I am, and you don't have a right to question that."

See how I did not ask a question and do not require an answer? The answer is clear. I do not ask questions that lurk within the mazework of overgeneralized horseshit that is the bible. I have answered the meaning behind this passage, and come to this conclusion........

I can go on about the unfairness of punishing children for the sins of there great, great grandparents, or about how God is clearly unjust since a human can ONLY commit a FINITE amount of sin, but will suffer INFINITE punishment.

I could, but I don't believe in fairy tales, and that is God's will. God clearly has hardened my heart and made me an atheist, decided to do it before I was even born, nay before the universe was even here, just to display his awesomeness when he punishes me in horrible fashion.

I think the parts you refer to are BEFORE the ten comandments were written dude...Not to be rude...but...Read the whole bible in order (front to back of course) first, then it will make more sense. (you still might not believe it, but it will make more sense).

The ten commandments didn't matter. It was the abolition of Mosaic Law (of which the ten commandments were a part) which was relevant. The ten commandments didn't change Mosaic Law, they only added to it. In fact, the 6th commandment ('you shall not murder') is what made Mosaic Law so hypocritical.

I'm pretty sure you have to prove that God exists before you can show that He has hardened BP's heart. That his heart is hard is a given, but how do you know that it's God that did this?

I don't defy God. There is no God to defy. Nothing I typed should suggest that God exists (as nothing can or does suggest this) so I do not know that God exists, and make no claims to that.

My main point was to show that in most cases I do not put up a bit of scripture and ask everyone what it means, as was suggested by the OP. My secondary point was to take yet another critical stab at the holy bible.
