What is the pope and why is he any different than anyone else?
What makes him any 'better' of a Christian?
Do you need a leader in real life, because your faith in God isn't strong enough, whereas you need someone else to 'look up to'
People treat him like he is the next step down from Jesus. That is an insult to you and your religion.

He's the head of the Catholic church and the head of state of Vatican City. Nowadays he mostly just conducts sermons at the Vatican and acts as a spokesman for the church. Watch The Godfather. It is sort of an insult to Christianity, but they're tools anyway.

Supposedly, St Peter was the first pope, as per the saying attributed to Jesus-- "You are the rock upon which I will build my church."
The pope is considred the ultimate authority on Catholic theology, but the doctrine of papal infallibility wasn't concocted until, I think some time in the 1800s.
Popes have always been--IMHO--more politicians than anything else, and some--particularly the Borgia popes--were incredibly corrupt.
Oh, and GF III was partly based on history--the assassination of Pope John Paul.

Why do you need a priest to confess your sins?
What makes a priest any better than you?
Is a Bishop a better Christian than a Priest?
Is there a Christian food-chain?
I read once that only the pope can correctly interpret the bible...Why is this? He is no better than anyone else.

There is a selection process that goes which choosing a new priest, based on things like that. However I don't know exactly how the Catholic church is run, so I don't know about the criteria for selecting a new pope or what makes him so great.

The Catholic Church is essentially a patriarchal hierarchy. Bishops just out-rank priests, who in turn out-rank monks. Nuns are on the bottom. So to speak.
The confess your sins thing is Catholic dogma, concocted to give the church power over people.
It has been observed that organized religion is simply crowd control.

That's what I'm thinking.
Although I have a story about God.
When I was trippin on shrooms with a couple friends, one said "dude, i think your dog fell down the stairs"
I said "na, I would have heard it"
30 minutes passes by
*friends leave*
I went downstairs to find out my dog is shaking and can't move. I was home alone for that weekend. He was growling at me when I tried helping him up, which he never growls at me, so I knew he was not doing well. I thought of what I should do. I cried for 10 minutes. I just thought about god and he got up, struggling, and he made it up the stairs.:)
Yet my faith in god is lacking.

Faith is not necessary. Want to see God? Look in the mirror. Or look AT the mirror. Or look out your window.
God is infinite, God is everything, and love is all around us.
Or to put it another way, in Heinlein's words--
I am God, thou art God, all that groks is God.
Don't like that? Try the words of Jesus -- "The kingdom of God is within you."

It's true. St. Peter was the first pope. He was actually a rabbit. Jesus made it so that only rabbits may be the Pope, as they are the only animal which is truly pure and incorruptible.

No, you fool! The secret meaning of rabbits in Easter is to keep the truth ALIVE! See, the Catholic Church replaced the pope with a man, and have been trying to suppress the truth for ever after...

That sounds plausible.
