Me and my buddie are planning on taking a road trip but we don't know where we wanna go. Which state should we hit and why? We were thinking about going around our state but its boring as fuck. We also considered Japan but its hard to gage how much that'd cost.

If I were to go anywhere else in the U.S. it would be California.

Go for the Southwest.
From my personal travels, I like the following:
Northern California
Arizona
Nevada
Idaho
I was born in NorCal and just visited the other places, I'd like to go back and live some day.

Oregon. We have the coast, mountains, lakes, deserts, and much more. Most of the good stuff is within 2 hours of the Valley.
I am planning on traveling this summer too, planning on seeing all the great things the US has to offer.

How about you head up down here to Canada, BC?
Unless you don't like weed, it's a perfect place.

just so you can truly see how boring one state can be.

Go to California not Oregon. We have mountains, lakes, the coast, and deserts as well except all ours are more improved.
For instance, your beaches look like this:

Our beaches look like this:

We also have the tallest mountain in the continental US(Mt. Whitney):

California does in fact rule.
Let's drink to California, way out by the sea, Where a woman's ass, and a whiskey glass, Made a horse's ass of me.

From what I've seen Oregon is a beautiful place. Tropical-esque climates get kind of bland...the type of shit you see as you head up into western Canada is breathtaking.

Northern California is different than Southern California. NorCal has the world's tallest trees! Do they have CALIFORNIA redwoods in Oregon? I think not!

If you do decide to come to california, check out big sur, carmel, monterey, and carmel valley, spending at least a day driving down the big sur coast, after having lived here(monterey peninsula) I can tell you from first hand experience:Beautiful. Plus, big sur has some pretty dank stuff
just my 2 cents:cool:

I honestly think the first beach looks better. I've always wanted to go to Oregon or Washington state.

NorCal beaches look just like that. Anywhere North of SF is going to look very similar to that. So you get both in CA.

If anywere go to the West Coast, Cali is a must, north and southren Cal is amazing with pretty much all climates. Check out LA for an awseome night life.
Visit Glacier National Park. With Global Warming (TM), the glaciers are set to disappear in the next 20 years. The Cascades are also gorgeous if you're into non-tropical rain forests (like a tropical rain forest but not humid). California is very cliche, but if you've never been you should go.
