Faith is essential to success in life . . .
All that is necessary for faith is the belief that
by doing our best we shall come nearer to success
and that success in our aims
(the improvement of the lot of mankind, present and future)
is worth attaining . . . I maintain that
faith in this world is perfectly possible
without faith in another world.

At first I thought this had something to do with Sly Stallone--you know, "Yo, Adrian." Ahem. Back to topic.

Words like "faith" and "belief" tend to make my spider-sense tingle, so to speak--I hear those words and I think of the saying "faith is when you believe in something you know isn't true." And for me, the less you believe and the more you know, the better off you are.

Perhaps the person quoted uses the word "faith" in the same sense that I use the word "trust", I dunno.

By "trusting" in the idea of every individual striving for the best, success will come closer to realization.

By believing that this will indubitably be the result, strong energies will be put in motion, causing tomorrow to be better than today.

The only definition I've ever had of faith is that of trust.
