View Full Version : UEFA Cup
So Rangers FC are through to their first European final in 36 years against Zenit St.Petersburg after rising to see off Werder Bremen, Fiorentina, Sporting CP and Panathainikos whilst Zenit seen off Bayern Munich (4-0 at home:o), Leverkusen, Villareall and Marseille.
Rangers won in Penalties after two draws with Fiorentina. I almost shit my pants, truelly nail biting experience. Zenit beat the favourites Bayern Munich 4-0! Amazing result from Zenit, Bayern Munich were the favourites after rising to see off Getafe in extra time scoring no less than 2 goals to make it 3-3 and getting through on away goals!
Rangers seem to be on the up beating football giants in recent years including Lyon, Stuttgart, Chelsea and unfortunately getting put out the Champions league by Barcelona.
Nacho fucking Novo love you, ya little squirt!
I think Dick Advocaats Zenit St.Petersburg will put us right out, there recent form has been amazing!
What's your opinions?

I'm still bummed over Barca being eliminated from the champion's league:(
I can't believe some low-level team like Zenit managed to beat Bayern. I didn't see the game, but it must have been an impressive performance on their part. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen Zenit play. I must say it's surprising that they've managed to best some of the bigger teams like Villareal and Marseille.
I'll have to agree with you, if they managed to tromp a huge team like Munich I don't see the Rangers having a snow-ball's chance in hell of beating them, especially after barely scraping past Fiorentina.
Celtic for the league....
Zenit for UEFA
Celtic for the league? Celtic: Played games: 36, points: 83 - Rangers games played: 34, points: 79. With the four games Rangers have leaft that could result in 12 points, against Celtics 6 available points. That would mean 91 available points to Celtics 89 points, so we can afford to draw. Not to mention Celtic have 2 hard games leaft.
Anyways, Rangers for an legendary quadruple; CIS Cup, Scottish Cup, Scottish Premier League and UEFA Cup :D
You're gonnae win fuckk all (8)
Sorry I can't keep my sectarianism in any longer....fuck rangers, up Celtic :)
Ok..the moment has passed.
Actually kudos on getting to the UEFA final...even if it was by playing for draws..but I still hope Zenit will win. Their trip to the final has been much more difficult: Bayern, Marseille, Villareal etc
Haha... ya tatty munching fenian bastarddd:D fuck the pope:)
Aw the suspense is killing me... Celtic won today and Rangers won there match yesterday... looks like it's going right to the wire.
Ok so we lost :( 200 thousand Rangers fans were in Manchester.. origionally thought to be 100 thousand, the biggest ammount of fans ever to go to a match (Rangers only had 30 thousand tickets for the stadium). Big screens were set up for the fans in the city, they did'nt work.. riots ensued.
http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/display.var.2272559.0.0.php
"The violence left 15 police officers, two paramedics and a police dog with a series of injuries including a broken arm, dislocated shoulder and cracked ribs. One officer had to undergo surgery to remove his earpiece after it was punched inside his head."
"Around 60 officers with riot shields launched a dozen baton charges to force a group back towards the Gardens where the trouble broke out. Meanwhile police and fans had running clashes on Market Street as bottles were hurled at officers.
Elsewhere there were reports of cars being overturned while six people were arrested after a Zenit fan was stabbed inside the stadium."

Zenit were deserved winners.
Rangers played disgracefully negative football.
Plus most of their supporters are neanderthals.
Rangers chief executive Martin Bain; "Those scenes obviously are dreadful and I've seen them myself and we have been informed ... that those scenes were caused by supporters that don't normally attach themselves to our support."
lol, whatever you say Martin

Celtic go to Seville, play fluid, open attacking football. We play against a team that went on to win the Champions league, had who is now regarded the best manager in the world and featured players who went on to star for Barcelona and Chelsea, narrowly losing 3-2 in extra time. 80,000 fans make the considerable journey, not one arrest, UEFA responds by awarding us the 'Supporters of the Year' award.
Rangers...
well, turn on the news.
Glad to see they kept up their time honoured tradition of not scoring in Europe and getting charged by the local riot police. 42 arrests at the last count I think?
And only won 3 of their last 13 european games? How on earth were they even in a final?
Hey, it does'nt matter HOW you play. Theres no rule book on the ways of playing, nothing to say you must attack or defend or whatever. So I don't see how the style of play is being complained about - it's not against the rules.
Anyways, they out played us and there a good team. Who's to say they won't go on and win the Champions League next year? Dick Advocaat the next manager of a high profile club? I mean c'mon, they just spent 30 million in this years transfer window.
I'm glad Rangers will have a little bit of money to spend this season I think they got around 20 million in all for getting to the final? Maybe more or less...
Still playing for the Scottish Cup and League, which should be a BREEZE. Rangers treble winners 08

dont believe the news reports. looks like there was a fair bit of police provacation. Am in glasvegas for uni these days, it was quality seeing all the weejies getting stuck in to the bizzies.
Fucks sake.. theres that twat copper on bbc (one that gone quite badly done)
I'm not for 100 folk jumping on 1 cop, but if you see the video of the incident - he started to retreat, got hit on the back by a bottle n turned round to say 'mon then!'. look at the rest of the police line - as their training states, they moved back.
daft fucker shouldnt have been there, and now he's gonna be paraded like a fucking martyr of society.
lol, whatever you say Martin
In all fairness it was probably just Mancunians riotting for the hell of it.

Fair enough, but you might want to tell the actual Rangers team, they're getting all charitable giving Motherwell points they don't even need.
Fuck the EPL, SPL title race WIDE open.
Haha, I've got to admit i'm quite scared now it's right down to the wire. I don't know if it's this exciting because i'm from Scotland and one of the biggest football rivalries are competing for the top spot on equal points, but do any other leagues get this nail biting?
I'm fucking shiting myself, I can admit Celtic look like they're going to win it now after Rangers drew with shit Mothererll (wtfff:mad:) It will be equal points if Rangers and Celtic win the rest of there matches although Celtic have a +4 goal diffrence on us with 1 more game to go for them, 2 more games leaft for Rangers after an admiral 3-0 win against St.Mirren.
Rangers better win the Scottish Cup, even if we've already won the CIS Cup this season it's not too good.
Congradulations to Celtic if they win, it did'nt look as if it was going this way mid-season, but props to Gordon Strachan.
Champions league on Wednesday, Man Utd. FTW

Arrr we hate strachan, 3 titles in a row is something, but this is against a rangers team that is the weakest its been for decades.
Darcheville and Cousin may be half decent, but they're no Laudrup, Gasgcoigne or McCoist.
I think if we're honest, despite minor inroads into Europe Celtic and Rangers are both very weak right now. I remember the days of Lubo Moravcik, Larsson and Sutton, jesus christ they were good. Even beforde that there was Cadette, van Hoojdonk and Di Canio. Now the only glimmer seems to be McGeady, who badly needs to bulk up and learn when to pass.
On the plus side I guess both teams are only going to get better. Maybe if we get a half decent manager he can get the best out of players like Donati and Brown- huge potential but very little impact, and Rangers need to lose that debt of theres.
And get us both in the Premiership, for the sake of football, its where we need to be.
I agree. Absolutely no money to be made in the SPl, they reckon that getting RELEGATED from the EPL generates the same ammount of cash as winning the SPL!! I guess it's down to TV revenue and such, theres enough fans at the matches.
I suppose Rangers will get some money for getting to the final, and not forgetting they sold Hutton for 9 Million (No matter how much Broadfoot tries to replace him, he sucks big black womans assholes). Hopefully Scottish football will be on the up soon enough, I think the u19 squad got to the finals (semi-finals?) in the u19 World cup. Youngsters like ohn Fleck and Steven Lennon are showing some promise.
All the left and right wingers suck. Barry Ferguson is loosing his touch. Kevin Thomson is slow. Boyd is lazy. Darchevilles getting old. Cousin does'nt want to be here. The only players in good form just now I would say are Alan McGregor and Carlos Cuellar. Naismith is supposedly out for a YEAR. He better come back and actually score some goals.
I'm going to play some FM 08.
Yay Rangers ar shite. Blown 2/4. And now a 3rd too?
Nothings been blown yet. We'll find out tonight. C'mon the Dundee Utd.
On a sidenote I hear a truck full of viagra has been sent to Celtic Park in efforts that Gordon Strachan will reach a semi this year.
*Ba dum chhhh*

lol :D
Rangers are doing well. 10 men, losing 2-0. Celtic leading 1-0 :)
