What was the quote? "I don't worry about the temperature. I just let it go. I end up with a beaker full of AP." Yes siree Bob.... (although it probably was a gas explosion)

Yeah gas seems much more likely...

There was report of burns, when AP goes off close enough to cause injuries it usually just rips and tears your flesh, the explosion is so fast it doesn't really burn you.

Fuck man...what was that from AP?

I'm calling gas explosion or ball lightning on this one.

Fuck man!
Was that from AP, how did it happen?

I'm calling gas explosion or ball lightning on the house though.

Yeah, it was from AP. At the time that happened, I had lost my fear of explosives. I hadn't made AP in ages because I moved on to better primaries but I wanted to make some because I remembered how easy it was. I was putting some in between to pennies and taping it so that when i threw them it exploded... Well long story short, it broke my thumb and cut up some of my fingers, and cut my face up pretty bad.

The day you lose fear of energetic materials is the day they bite you and put your slow moving molecules back into place.

It's things like that which have kept me from making AP. I still have a jug of 30% H2O2 and some HCL in the garage, and they've been sitting there for almost a year unopened.

Same here, ever since things went bad for me with AP I haven't found the desire to touch the stuff again. There are much better primaries out there.

The story definitely gets more interesting. Whatever it was, it certainly worked.

if this was a accelerant this would be very strange that this 'gang' of girls could pour so much in then let is sit in a hot flat long enough to become vapour and to the right fuel air mixture to cause a explostion, as well liquid explosives are hard to beleive because again the amount it would take to create the damage shown in that picture.. and again one would have to get quite large quantity in a contained area for it again to cause such damage .. and again if some girls were pouring some "smelly purple liquid" through the letterbox you think somthing would have been said ..

also had this been a explosive device or material the blast would be centralized in one location these pictures indicate a more uniform explostion .. possibly there was a primary and secondary blast ? ie small explostion cause possibly a gas leak ? which then ignited ? smelly purple liquids can be anything.. were also talking cloudy minds and speculation this liquid or remains would have to be tested

I would bet that there was a gas leak in the void between the two walls. This would have filled the void and spread along inside the walls of the terrace undetected before igniting and literally blowing the walls apart without actually exploding in the rooms of the house leaving little fire damage and giving that effect.

Id also bet it was caused by a builder or dodgy gas engineer either not sheathing the pipe and/or cementing directly around the pipe where it enters the house stopping gas from escaping directly outside and rather directing the gas into the void.

That's just my prediction but iv seen a similarly destroyed house from that kind of leak.

I don't think this is anything sinister, probably just the police and media hyping things up. And purple purple liquid made by some little girls... Just lol

For all the romance engendered by a band of little girls brewing up something that caused that level of damage, I, too, suspect that it was a gas explosion, although it could have been caused by a vaporized hydrocarbon (some moron doing large-scale cleaning with white gas or something similar). An auto repair shop in Florida exploded 7-10 days ago, killing the only inhabitant and depositing debris over a 1/4 mile area. The authorities believe that the explosion was caused by vaporized gasoline.
