So I got accepted into a pretty selective university and already put down my deposit. I lied on the common app and said I was never suspended even though I was suspended three days in 10th grade for fighting some kid. When I conferenced with my principal he said that they don't notify the colleges of your suspension unless the school specifically asks for it. Bullshit?

Is there any chance my shit could get revoked? I feel like I could play it off as an accident

i don't think they really give a shit about some fight in 10th grade. honestly. if they actually did ask you, just say you checked the wrong box or something by mistake. i really really doubt they'd revoke your acceptance over this. it's nothing, really.

You would have to explicitly authorize any such disclosure since disciplinary records are protected under the FERPA. There's a couple exceptions for sexual assaults or behavior that poses a significant risk to the community, but that wouldn't apply here. Details are in Title 20 (http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=browse_usc&docid=Cite:+20USC1232g) of the US Code.

Bottom line is, you're fine. Good work, more kids should learn to lie where it counts.
