Consider first, that it is the role of the moderation team to decide what belongs and does not belong in the forum, and NOT the role of the regulars, as well as the discretion to choose whether a thread should be moved, closed, or deleted and whether or not the offending user gets penalized. Also consider that those who are respectful towards the opinions of others will have their own opinions respected. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to disagree while respecting one's opinion. In that regard, consider the following of this forum:
1.) This forum is not for discussions about politics, war, or government policy/strategy unassociated with troop lifestyle. A thread perceived as pursuing such discussion will either be closed, deleted, or moved to the appropriate forum at the full discretion of the moderators.
2.) We welcome all sorts of constructive criticism, positive and negative. However, what we do not welcome in those regards are simple libel, baseless conjecture, and presenting opinion as fact. There is a large difference between saying "X is Y" and "I believe X is Y because of Z".
3.) Active recruiting will not be tolerated. This involves one person or party actively and directly encouraging another person or party to enroll or to seek to enroll into a service with the targeted party having little or no clear prior considerations of the offering service. Discussions relating or regarding recruiting are fine. Offering advice or information is one thing; advertising is another thing entirely.
These rules are a cooperative decision by the moderation team. The rules can and will change at any time without prior notice. It is the right and privilege of the moderation team to enforce these regulations to the best of their judgment, both as a whole and individually.
