The other day a woman in her mid-thirties tried to witness me via door-to-door evanglicism. I thought it seemed nice to let her in and invite her to a drink, and she accepted and came inside. After a while of chatting, leading her to believe that I may actually consider her church (mormanism) I finally turned the reigns on her and began to preach atheism. I said that if she was willing to listen to my beliefs, I would be willing to listen to hers. She politely declined and ran out of the house.
After a while of letting the incident ruminate, I decided that enough was enough: my beliefs are not to be dismissed like that, especially from someone who was trying to push theirs on me. I mean, is it that much to listen to what I have to say if you're going to be running your mouth on my beliefs? So, I decided: I'm going to get my old work outfit on, again (a slightly coffee stained white shirt with black pants) and a nametag. I decided I'm going to carry a manuscript of "The God Delusion" and a series of small pamphlets explaining evolution and atheism.
Basically, I'm going to go door to door and explain my point. What I'm asking you, as a group, is to do the exact same thing. Ride your bike around town and ask people if they're familiar with the works of Noam Chomsky and Charles Darwin. Talk about Dawkins and the "church of atheism." Arrange faux meetings where you "discuss and worship nothing" but let them know there will be "punch and pie."
