If you capitalise the G you refer to the proprietary God. If God isn't a being then you aren't talking about the Abrahamic God at all. All beings are things, therefore your first sentence is illogical.

The glue that holds the universe together are probably considered to be the 4 forces of modern physics, the strong force, the weak force, gravity and electromagnetism. If we can rely on gravity to hold the universe together god becomes redundant, and thus unnecessary.

God is indeed a bane of existence, but I would dispute that he is the bane of existence. Of course I'm taking bane to mean "something causes misery or death; "the bane of my life" ". What are you taking it to mean, acoyte?

Thusly have I discharged my excremeditative load upon the acolytes.

This type of thinking seems to make god so superfluous. Or as some people say, if god is everything, then god is nothing.

Well then--some people are mistaken. God is not an entity per se , but the creative and loving spiritual energy/intelligence that underlies and maintains the visible universe--hardly "nothing."

and maintains the visible universe

Did you know that the human body is 99.99999% empty space? I just read this in a Deepak Chopra book and it blows my mind, God really is maintaining the visible universe.

Maybe. But why call that "glue" God? It's confusing at best, and downright misleading at worst, because it could result in the other qualities we associate with god sliiping in under the radar, so to speak.

It is 'spiritual energy' and 'intelligence'?? What am I to make of that? Sounds like the usual religious crytpo babble to me. Show thyself.

I love this quote:
"It is the commonest of mistakes to consider that the limit of our power to perceive is also the limit of all there is to perceive."

Sure, but talk about what you know WHEN you know it. Speaking in this nature is also the great veil of Obscurantists and tricksters.

Ya know, I can't sit down and show anybody some papers or studies that prove God as real. I can't take them out to the place where God found me and expect them to also be found. I can't tell them my story and expect them to sit still so God may recast their heart. I can't help your absence of faith. What you're doing on an internet forum...talking to humans about the possibilities and impossibilities of the divine...is rather wasteful. No man can teach you God. God, however, can teach you anything.

You know when the mind control aliens start infecting the crew in Star Trek, and the infected start talking about how wonderful the aliens are?

To me that's really exactly how you sound.

New theory - Is God is a mind control alien - possibly some sort of evil alien spore?
