Where do you think it lies?

I have to give a short talk, as part of a series on "The Wonder of..." (e.g science, literature etc.). I've been thinking I could focus on Philosophy, because what can be more wondrous than thinking why we are here, and perhaps looking at history and politics in terms of seeing how society develops and how humans interact with each other.

Any ideas/comments/suggestions?
