205g APAN in a 4" pcv pipe with plexiglass sheets superglued on each end. need to disarm it safely in a way other than detonating it for really stupid reasons. my plan was just dissolve the end cap off with acetone and pour it all out into room temp water. sound reasonable?

why cant you det it?

I seriously doubt that acetone is going to eat through even a thin layer of plexiglass in any reasonable amount of time.

This is why you use paper... if it goes bad you just soak it in water or some other solvent... let the paper lose its glue and fall apart...

I would say, get a shovel and start digging. Drilling something made of AP seems like a retarded idea to me. Acetone idea is alright, but i dont know if it will work quick enough. I say you dig a hole, thats like 6 feet deep, and det it in there, no noise problem/etc.

The thing about drilling is that it slowly sublimes, I would not risk it.

This is what I was going to recommend, if your current device doesn't have a working fuse, then i would suggest another 100g charge placed in direct contact with it in the hole.

No large bodies of water around? How about a cliff?
AP does degrade, but not very fast if enclosed in a pipe.
