View Full Version : Supernatural lift effect generated by mosquito wings?
A while back, I can't forget where, I heard of a man in Russia who discovered some supernatural lift effect that is generated by mosquito's wings. He killed a large number of mosquitoes, took their wings, and glued them to a board. He then attached a metal handle to this board like a scooter and attached other pieces of wood with mosquitoes wings to help him maneuver his contraption. I heard that he was able to fly all around Russia without consuming any energy because of the effect generated by the mosquitoes wings. Does anyone have any more information on this?

I can't tell if you're BSing us or you're serious but, why would dead mosquito wings help a person to fly?
i saw it some programme. the dude said he was going "at least 800 mph".
fuck it was funny.
but then i started to get angry because some people in the show actually believed it, and were discussing it using big pretend words.

You're probably referring to Viktor S. Grebennikov's Cavity Structure Effect, (http://www.keelynet.com/greb/greb.htm) I've been meaning to make a thread about him for a long time.
And as far as I'm aware mosquito wings weren't used in his levitation device. I'm not aware of Grebbenikov explicitly stating what insects were used, but it is likely they were from a species of Cetonia. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cetonia_aurata) Having said that, in this sciforum.com thread (http://www.sciforums.com/Grebennikov-Bio-gravitics-anti-gravity-discovery-t-5010.html) a species of bee, Halictus Quadricinctus is put forward as a possible candidate:

Unfortunately no confirmation is given, and the thread quickly descends into flames and no further useful comment is made regarding the insects identity.
Here are some more detailed extracts (http://www.rexresearch.com/grebenn2/greb2.htm) from his work (I haven't read them yet).

That really isn't very believable.
