I've been looking through vacations on this website, Redtag.ca, which basically sells last minute vacation packages for completely awesome cut rates.

But I've noticed that the best deals are the ones that you buy a day or two days before departure. That's just fine with summer coming up and whatnot, but I'm wondering if this kind of website, or online travel websites in general are legit? I don't want to drop $400 on a vacation to find out it's some kind of scam.

So in the spirit of not being an idiot, I just wanted to know if anyone has ever used a site like this and whether or not it's a totally shitty idea. Thank in advance.

Stuff like that is legit, it's better so sell something at a discount than not sell it at all.

Since an empty seat in a plain or hotel is basically a waste of capacity for a company. Don't know about that website tho, but the principal behind it is common. Some airports even have dicount sections where travelling agencies try to sell their last empty seats.

It's a legit site. You can take a look at the travel sticky for more like it.

I'm not sure if the guy copied all of my links from the old sticky, so you might want to do a search for it.

Where are you looking at going?

Remember that these sites have fees and such, the advertised rate isn't what you'll pay.
