IMO they are the best recruiting commercials out there. They don't really break the fourth wall, and don't have that near laughable patrioticness that American commercials have. Your thoughts?

No recruitment.

No recruitment.
4.) Active recruiting will not be tolerated. This involves one person or party actively encouraging another person or party to enlist or commission into a service with the targeted party having little or no clear prior considerations of the offering service. Offering advice or information is one thing; advertising is another thing entirely.
These videos aren't being posted here for recruitment and are well within fair use.

By posting a recruitment video the person is by default actively recruiting, irrespective of where they reproduce that video, or whether recruitment is their personal intention. Otherwise it's like saying a car advert is only actively trying to sell you are type of car, when it's shown on the TV and not on the internet!
But it's your forum, so do as you please.

I'm commenting on how awesome these commercials, as commercials, are and saying how they are surprisingly better than those that the American Armed Forces produce. I'm not recruiting.
Remember the American one where the guy is fighting the lava monster? Fuck that was retarded.

Seriously, a lava monster (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdRurT-hcFY&feature=related)? What next... Taliban-guided pterodactyls?
Without a link I honestly can't believe this.

The United States Marine Corps is looking for recruits to fight lava monsters. Would you like to know more? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDZ2fMHTvwk)

*stunned silence*
... and to think I was trying to be as ridiculous as possible. But by the looks of that advert they'd probably dismiss the Taliban-guided pterodactyl idea as a bit mudane.
Now, if it was a Taliban Death Star with Osama Bin Laden as Grand Moff Tarkin and Satan himself as Darth Vader, then maybe, just maybe...

As idiotic as it looks, I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a metaphorical production.
I don't know...
Just a guess...
Maybe...

No shit.
And anyone with half a braincell can see that is a very cynical and crude piece of marketing aimed primarily at the teenage playstation generation. But then I suppose you gotta try n' catch 'em whilst they're still young.
They're easier to indoctrinate that way.

Gee, I thought maybe that the three individual lines of fake inquisition might have given away the fact that my entire post was sarcastic. Luckily, you, monsieur, have proven otherwise. You have my gratitude.

I wasn't insulting you. You'll know when I do.
Of course, the most dishonest part of the lava monster ad is the sword. You don't get a sword unless you are either an NCO(E4) or officer. So I wont get to fight a Balrog with a sword anytime soon after I enlist. I'm going to ask my recruiter what MOS gets special training in fighting orcs and Lord of the Rings monsters...
Also, you guys need to remember that the lava monster commercial is still 20x better than the chess commercial (http://tinyurl.com/4mfgjx) from the 80s.

They may be trying to brainwash me, but its hella better/funner/more interesting to watch those commercials, just for the ass kicking content, then it is to watch any other commercials.
