I was thinking about this the other day and I came to the conclusion that True and False questions are not really questions, but rather agreements designed to make you think a certain way. My problem with these types of questions is that they create only two sides and don't allow room for argument. This belief of their only being two sides (Good/evil, happy/sad) is a Christian doctrine that I don't think is right for this world. They also give you less room to argue which in my opinion shuts down all thoughts of idea.

What do you think are the effects of these type of questions on the world we live in? Do you think they alter your brain structure in making you think that everything is two sided and argument is void?

Kind of hard to debate that one. Somethings are Fact, others are False, and yet some fall into a grey area.

True and false questions can be distorted to show only what someone wants you to see, but that normally only happens in a History class. We all know that the winners write the history books.

Maybe if it was the only type of question we ever saw in all our schooling ever. Fortunately we have plenty of multiple choice, short answer and free response questions too.

It seems this is insinuating that some masterhead federal mandate requires true or false questioning, but in reality teachers mostly make up exams themselves and true/false questions are simple ones to grade. And as earlier stated, some things just are - there is no opinion to be inserted in them.
