The other day I was thinking how unlike England we the United States don't have a royal family that we pay taxes for. Yes we have the presidents family, but thats kind of different because after his term we don't really consider much of them.

I was thinking about how the lack of a royal family could be a role model for individualism and weak family relationships. Do you think that one way the United States could bring up its nationalism is if we establish a royal family? What would be our criteria? What do you think the are the effects of this absent entity in the US?

I think a concept like a royal family would make people keep stronger family connections and more honor amongst one another. It might also instill a nationalistic sense once people can begin to brag about how their royal family is better then theirs. Thoughts?

Royal families are stupid.

That'll be the inbreeding.

Do you think that one way the United States could bring up its nationalism is if we establish a royal family?

What does America need to "bring up its nationalism" for?

Are some citizens starting to fail in their mindless duty towards patriotism?

The whole idea is impossible.

You cannot just establish a royal family out of thin air.

Americans naturally don't trust our gov't.

And that is what makes us fundamentally different than our European cousins.

We have never been subjected to autocracy or totalitarianism. (Hitler, Stalin, Napoleon, Cromwell, etc.)

Royal families are the epitome of absolute rule. Americans don't put up with that crap (and will never).

US taxes -> unnecessary government procurements -> overpaid government contractors owned by the ruling elite -> dividends, wages, and bonuses to America's royalty. :p

And do we still have it today?

No. Because we didn't put up with it.

The USA is already much more nationalistic than any Western European state today.

We don't need a Royal Family because this country was founded on the idea that all men are equal.

So the Kennedys don't count? Given they end up (sentors and shit).

Or if you consider the Bilderbergers, Rockefellers, Tri-Lateral Commission "the family":p

Also, fuck no to royal families. The UK doesn't have heavy nationalism; it's a union of 4 different nations and peoples. How the fuck can they have 'nationalism'?

EDIT: if a Royal Family HAS to be made; erm it'd probably be from some rich socialite meetup, the richest and most social celebrities and eventually it grows via marriages and shit. Again, impossible as the US Constitution forbids it but still...

To be a man you must first be human, which, IIRC, was something black people were not defined as being under past American law.

Don'tcha just love these quirky little loopholes white people create. ;)
