Obviously ArmsMerchant is intolerant and can not grasp the idea that an non-theist is doing business with a superchurch and now potentially 3 smaller, but close to superchurches.
Here is the situation:
I own a community website. It has all kinds of info about my town (it's in the bible belt)
I already have multiple business owners that have bought advertisment space.
So I have a superchurch and 3 smaller churches that want to pay Somehwere in the ball park of 3 dollars a day.
I want to try to get atleast 4 from them, or cut a deal and say you post a link to my site on yours and let me put flyers in your building, and i'll charge you $3.00 for the addspace.
Unfortunately, dealing with the stereotypical christian in the bible belt is pretty difficult.
The only selling point I can make on the $3.00 deal allowing me to put flyers in their buildings and have a link to my site on theirs is the following.
"You can't even get a candy bar and a bottle of coke for $3.00 anymore. I am giving you a great deal."
Knowing your customer is the first rule of business, but as an atheist, I find it difficult to refrain from speaking when a church goer around here says something along the lines of,
"Come to our church, we are having a clinic or atheists."
So seriously, I am not trying to troll. I put this thread and the previous thread here for a very good reason--We have resident christians that can give me insight on how business and church interact.
Please help me out here.

Unless EVERYONE knows you're an athiest, don't SAY it.
Say you attend so and so church. When you go to that church, say you go to the other one. BAM.
I would not even try to say I was an athiest. Do you know how evil they view you as? It's true brainwashing, like in my experience in church, they believe an athiest is UNABLE to do good because it is not through J.C.

About 300 of the members know this. And yes I do know how "bad of a person" I am for not wanting to believe in any sort of "God". They even started some serious rumors that nearly wrecked my life, but I don't remain bitter over it. Shit happens.
Note to ArmsMerchant:
Please compromise with me on this one. That is all I am asking. I am not trying to scam anyone, but rather learn how to present something to a audience consiting of christians in a way where they will like it, and not get me blown out of the water. In the south, everything is controlled by churches for all intensive purposes. If I mess up with this sale, I most likely loose the majority of my other clients and contracts.

It may well be that some churches will refuse on principle to do business with someone outside their faith. This is their right, and if you misrepresent yourself to gain your business you are selling your integrity and selling it very cheaply at that. I cannot condone this practice.
My advice would be to simply not raise the issue. If they ask, tell them to render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and render unto God that which is God's. The line worked well for Jesus, it should work for you.

I don't consider it selling my integerty ArmsMerchant, nor do I consider it misrepresenting myself. I do consider it relating to your potential customer.
Think of it like this;
MY last sale was to a construction comapny. They use a method that is state of the art when it comes to green construction. I researched them and knew this before hand. I asked the owner/contractor if he was interested, and he said yes. I asked him if I could tag along to one of his new jobsites. I did and asked him why he wasn't using the old methods (I am under 18 and worked construction to get the money to start my business), He then went into why and I acted very interested even though I already knew why and had researched beforehand. He was very pleased and I even added that his new method would make an excellen selling point. I got the sale at $6.00 a day for a two-year term.
I was thinking someth9ing along the lines of:
"Happy is he who dashes thy little ones upon the rocks.", but your line will work better.
I did some research on the addition they recently added, but I get the feeling getting them to talk about membership and the new addition won't get me very far.
The one thing in my favor is that they came to me instead of me going to them, so it is obvious they want to be on my site.
P.S Try not to have your wife do some magic that I do not understand that will get me into hot water. ;) Also, How is she doing anyways?I recall you said she was not in good condition. (No this is not me pulling a salesman on you.)

Yeah, if you're in the bible belt it might be kind of hard. I wouldn't quote Jesus though, because they might think you are actually evil for using/"twisting" their Messiah's word.
It is really touchy. Not raising the issue would be my advice, but since alot of people know it might suck for you. sorry, it does sound rough.

300 out of 1200 know I do not associate myself to any form of theism. That's only 25% I have a 75% chance in my favor that I will remain undetected.

Shitty man.
So what? If by some slim chance there is a God, they just screwed themselves.
I adapted and dealt with it. I came out in one peice. Now might be profiting off of their church, so who really lost?
Uh, I don't know why you are getting so defensive. I was saying its shitty that they made up a bunch of rumors that nearly ruined your life.
Its great that you can get over it.

You took it wrong. I meant it in a "does it really matter in the long run" sence.

Obviously you have never lived in the bible belt. These people live to try to tell people that they are going to hell if they do not believe in christ.

The only way you'll stick out like a sore thumb and give them a reason to not do business with you is if you draw attention to your non-belief, kinda like you're doing now.
If they invite you to church, politely decline. As long as you maintain a friendly, professional attitude and provide the level of service they expect, then your business relationship will flourish.
*OR*
If they corner you about your relationship with God, then lie like a Persian rug. You're a salesman! You can laugh all the way to the bank - literally, at their expense. As long as you don't deprive them of the service they pay for, does it really matter one way or another how you sweet-talked them into being your loyal customer?

Bah, that's only if they accept pastoral brainwashing. If my recollection isn't too far off, I'm told to love even those I see as wicked. I presume it has something to do with that forgiving as I have been forgiven, loving as I have been loved deal...

He must not understand that christians in America all worship the one true god: The almighty dollar.
Job goes to the lowest bidder. They dont care if you're a satanist if you can give them a deal.

advertisments go for 250 a month in the papershere.
If I charge 3 dollars a day and the month has 31 days, that's 93.00 a month.
That is 157 dollars cheaper than my competition. MY competition only includes a short description and a phone number also.
None Other

Dont bother negotiating, just threaten to feed them to the lions.
Albiet christians rarely take persecution well, seeing how they got back at the world for that initial hickup
