Well i agree with what he did in a way, if he was faking being dead - he could of been an insurgent with an ak behind him, or be boobytrapped, you don't wait to find out - thats how people die.

If that was a valid reason for killing in this scenario, why was he removed from duty?

As far as can be seen from the footage, he's main concern was that the guy had the audacity to still be alive.

A lot of second guessing bullshit goes on. Get taught about "use of force" by the wrong instructor, then imagine them as part of an investigating group.

A guy lying 'doggo' after you've just come through in an attack sure is dangerous. If a guy got taken off duty for shooting a guy who was playing dead then I think whoever did the investigating needs their head examined.
