Hey i'm just curious if universities care if you have a criminal record, or if you had a juvenile record?

It probably depends on what it is, but I had two underage drinking arrests and still got into good schools. Whatever it is though, I'm sure it looks better than you lying on the application about it, so I definitely wouldn't recommend that, although I'm not sure if they do check or not.

Did you write down that you had a criminal record, or do you believe they may have checked up on you.

Its been a couple years so I forget exactly, but I know I wrote that I had a record for at least one of the schools that I got into, and I also didn't lie on any of them as I imagine that would bar you from the school if they did check. I think it mainly depends on how they phrase the question, like for instance if they ask you if you have any felonies than I would've put no, or if your record has been expunged than you don't have to put yes.

I really have no idea if schools actually do check or not, but if they bother to put the question on the application there's probably a good chance they do.

Yea, if you misunderstood that chimro, I never have nor will drive will drunk, just got caught drinking in high school a while back.

Yes. When you fill out the app there's should be a little box you have to check. It sucks, I know.

A while ago someone on here said that if you don't check the box about the criminal record, there is no way for the school to get the file on you because it's confidential or something. But I"m not totally sure.

I had possession of alcohol and checked the "no" box, indicating i was never arrested (even though i had been obviously) and I still got in to where I wanted.

I also went to play lacrosse and the coach pulled some strings but idk, worked for meh.


honestly though, i dont think they even bother looking at your record, i think they just take your word for it.
