So I have always heard that alot of thier music is used for ritualistic magik and such.
From the way they set up everything live on stage to the lyrics and the sounds of their music...
I have ALWAYS been a big fan but something happened a little while back.
A friend and I were had dropped and I decided to throw on "Third Eye" because I have always heard that its a crazy song to listen too ya know...
Well, as I was laying there staring up my friend gets up and tells me to turn it off and to stop doing what I was doing... I was kind of lost...
I remember the ceiling swirling of course but there was actually this black hole in the middle of all the white, I just didn't think anything of it... I hardly remembered it because I was so focused and just spiraling...
My friend didn't like it at all.... He told me he reached up to it and it felt like it was sucking him his soul in through his arm.
It REALLY REALLY REALLY scared him and he is mad at me because he thinks I did it on purpose...
I didn't mean to even do it if I was the one who did it... I mean I was trying to pry open my third eye and stuff, could I have opened something else?
Like I said, he is very upset about it... He was talking to my friend about it and actually started crying... He said it he had never seen anything like it and it scared him ALOT.
Does anyone have any idea of what I'm talking about and what could have happened?
I'm really at a loss of words.

I don't know man. It's certainly nothing to be afraid of though. It could have been typical ego-loss, and he was afraid to let go. I love Tool also, by the way.

Danny Carey, the drummer, is really into that kinda stuff. He drums in patterns similar to different occult symbols, and supposedly, he has a demon in his house that he summoned a while back. Also, try putting on Tool before taking a nap, or even sleeping through the night. Undertow is good. You will have the coolest dreams ever.

Most definately... I have heard about those drumming patterns...
Throughout the song as well there are highly syncrochized vibrations on the guitar.
I had never heard them before until that night, I think you have to be in the right state of mind...
They'll start making your eyes shaking and you sort of get pulled out and somewhat let go.
If you read the lyrics for "Third Eye" it actually describes what happened...
I really don't find it anything to be frightened about.
He didn't like it because I supposedly did it without his acknowledgment and he wouldn't have wanted to be part of it if I would have... But like I said everything was somewhat accidental.
He said he was always sketchy about this kind of stuff when it comes to the belief in it but after what happened he feels its really there.
He finds it evil... I don't see why.

Tell him it's within him. It's a reflection of his inner state.
