Co-operate to the extent required by the law.
IE: This is my name, here is my licence, I have nothing else to say, where is my lawyer?

Well I have a policy.
Always Run.
This is because running ON FOOT is only a misdemeanor that you will probably not even be charged with because it is only a charge that you get if they can't find anything on you if they catch you and that it's NOT a jailable offense.
Running on foot is ALWAYS your best option. Unless you have a race car, DO NOT GET INTO A CAR CHASE, I do not reccomend it, and it is a felony. If you have a lot of things you dont want the cops to find in the car, get enough speed and distance to not be seen throwing it out the window, however if you are seen doing this you are fucked.
REMEMBER:
ALWAYS RUN ON FOOT. You are better equip than a 40 year old fat cop with a heavy utility belt and a gun. Hop fences, and get out of the area, DO NOT HIDE IN ONE SPOT WITHIN A 2 MILE RADIUS OF THE LAST TIME YOU SAW A COP.
Change your appearance the best way you can, roll or cut your pants to look like shorts, take off one of you shirts, ditch the hat or back pack, etc.
FYI:
If you are running on foot and you ditch anything you dont want seen EVEN IF THE KNOW YOU HAD IT, they CANNOT USE IT AGAINST YOU IN COURT. No matter what they say or tell you, they can't use the imaginary weed they thought you bought if they don't find it when you run. I advise eating something while running or at least throw it on a roof or somewhere else unseen/unattainable.
But seriously, if you think the cops are trying to stop you after you just got done doin work, RUN. If its a few days later and you just walking down the street in different clothes and it looks random, they may just be questioning you UNLESS they have a warrant. If they are questioning you about something of the past, do not tell them anything without a lawyer.

Your policy is shit.
Whether you are on foot or in a car, running is running. Evading or Attempting to Evade WILL be slapped onto your charges, even if you had no other charges forthcoming, you've got one now. Evading IS a jailable offense and you will be jailed for it. The police have radios and even if you DO run out of their sight, they will simply radio ahead.

as long as they don't have any warrants, i'd say it's safe to not run. just make sure you don't say anything incriminating.

It's easy to run from cops. But you'll never get away in a car. Cops are stupid and fat. Best bet is to run somewhere they can't drive!
SWIM used to run from from the police all the time when he used to go car and garage shopping and he always got away. He told me that bicycles were the best thing in the world to get away from cops he said that then you could go between houses and other places that a car cant go and a cop couldn't run as fast as he was going.
co-operate so the cops don't expect much

This is really bad advice that I'm giving, but if sticking around would result in serious charges, then why not run? Running on foot is a misdemeanor (check your state's laws), and if you're going to jail anyway if you stick around, you really have nothing to lose by running. Just be prepared for the cops kicking your ass if they catch you.
Never run in a vehicle though. That's a felony, you can ruin innocent people's days (and get homicide charges if you happen to kill any of them). If a pursuing officer complains of so much as wrist pain from anything resulting from the chase, that's another felony.
So in summary, never run in a car, and don't run on foot unless you're pretty sure you can get away (it's hard, but I've seen a few people do it ;) ) and sticking around would get you in a ton of trouble for sure. Use your best judgment, but being in a situation where you need to evaluate whether to run from the police is probably an indication that good judgment isn't your strong suit.

if u see them somewhere after you have been involved in "activities" run
if they are far away but getting closer run
if they are right fucking there dont see/ want you leave quickly
close want to "talk" dont run

I have, twice actually. The first time me and some people were at a park, and my friend was hitting some other guy with a bat, and these people stopped and phoned the police, which should have meant we had like 7-10 minutes, but they must have been in the area, and were there within like 25 seconds.....'twas a woman cop, but I still bust a lung running.
the cops didnt see me but later (a few days) they see me walking down the street and pull me over...
Lesson 1 : they didnt' see you.
This is something that most people don't know, yet is one of the most useful things in existance. Even if they're staring at a chalkboard of photographs of you when you walk by, are able to match up every scar and tatoo to the micrometer, etc, etc, etc... if there's not fingerprints or DNA or the like, and you're not dumb enough to confirm your identity, they didn't see you... they saw some citizen, with all the rights of a citizen, whom the want to ascertain whether or not it is you.
Now, with a warrant against fingerprints on file, this may be probable cause to detain you to see if they can get a warrant to compel a fingerprint check to confirm your identity.
However, "some guy of x-foot-y with z-colored skin and q-colored hair was doing this" is not even close to being something that could get an arrest or search warrant. The best they could really do is talk to you (possibly detain you, but probably not - it would be slightly legally dangerous for them)... and hope that you incriminate yourself.
Running, otoh, is reason enough to arrest you for attempting to elude, allowing them time (and your prints & docs) to find an angle on figuring the rest out later.
