Old.. and dangerous the way he put that thing together. There is a real way of doing it with co2 and an empty fire extinguisher, but I don't feel like hunting around the net to finding it. I would advise against anyone making a flamethrower this way. Might as well learn the proper and safe way if your gonna do it, i think.

That was actually a lot better and safer then what I was expecting. Don't get me wrong its very dangerous still and not advisable to try to re-create but compared to most the other flamethrower designs ive seen its actually not that bad and the guy is not just a complete fucktard. Most people are like "YEA LETS BUILD A PLASTIC FLAMETHROWER AND USE GASOLINE WOOOTTT" then you see the video of them testing it and they catch fire because they didn't realize gas eats plastic. At least this guy probably did a little study. But I wouldn't try that theres to many things that could go way wrong and I don't know about you but burning to death or burning and becoming a fucked up nasty fuck that no one would fuck are two things id like to not experince.

He should have used one of those 1 way valves, forget what they are called.

He did, actually. If you find the "real" thread on somethingawful, he made an edit to it to modify it. They're called flashback arrestors.
