So I need to get from SF to Seattle over about 3-4 days, going by train or bus. Can anyone recommend places to stop off at along the way? This is the culmination of the trip I've been planning since this thread: http://www.totse.com/community/showthread.php?t=1990277
I'm focussing on the West Coast though, no cross-country trip.

It's a little out of the way (south) but Monteray, CA is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

If you're into music the White River Ampitheate (Auburn, WA) usually has some pretty good shows there.

Portand, OR is a good party town if you're old enough to hit the clubs.

I would aviod a lot of the touristy shit in Seattle....I took my fiance there a few weeks ago (I live in Everett, WA now) and we were both EXTREMLEY disappointed. The best part of the night was going to Red Robin.

OK cool thanks for the reply. I'm 21, so I guess I'm old enough for the clubs etc and will stop off in Portland for sure. I'm driving back down from Seattle to LA over a month so if you reckon it's good Monterey will definitely be a stop. This holiday will be epic, I'm British, never been to the States before but have been saving for it.. Is Red Robin a burger bar then?

Here's a dive strip club that's right down the street from Amtrak in Portland:

Yes, Red Robin is a buger joint. And one of my favorites. Theres one on Pier 56 in Seattle.
