View Full Version : Pregnancy Licenses

I think that pregnancy licenses must be issued to married couples who have a certain amount of income and a certain IQ. Any pregnant women seen in public will be asked to show their pregnancy licenses. If they do not have a pregnancy license, they will be given a ticket and scheduled an appointment with an abortion clinic. This will help speed up evolution (IQ requirement), keep population down (especially illegal immigrants, as they will not be allowed to have a pregnancy license), and prevent poverty, because couples with a low income will not be issued a license.

You are painfully stupid.
these new arrivals are just fucking stupid. (i am a lurker, not being able to register till now)
people own their genitals, and can do whatever they want with them. that includes making children.
I think you should move to Britain, you'll fit along nicely with their police state you wannabe fascist.

Thanks for proving me right.
You don't seem to have considered just how easy it is to get pregnant.
It doesn't cost to get pregnant, like it costs to say, drive a car, or buy a gun. (I don't know about anywhere else, but where I'm from a firearms license is mandatory for legal gun ownership).
Really, I think that it would depend on what the goal of such a policy was. If it was there to encourage a productive society, then it would arguably be a good idea; however from a human-rights perspective, it's simply shocking.
I think registration should be closed. :(
Seriously, what a retarded idea.

So many problems with this idea. I don't even know where to start, but wow, I'll try. I'll use small words so you can understand.
- The human rights violations are pretty significant.
- We will not be able to agree on a standard. IQ tests don't make or break the person.
- IQ is not hereditary.
- If it was passed (and it won't be), pregnant women could simply stay in their homes to give birth if they wished.
- The religious people would be quite pissed off.

If they ever passed such a bill here in the states they will definiately get a hell of a fight out of me. Genocide is unacceptible under any circumstances, especially if the race is capable of intelligent thought. I'm suprized that any group of people would allow this to go on in their own nation. Passing such a bill wouldn't increase mankinds' intelligence, percentage wise anywise, 1 in 4 will still be stupid, the only thing that will improve intelligence is education, now if you want to talk about doing away with school systems that don't try to teach the students, I will get behind you on that, when I went to school you had to get 95% to get an A, now the most they try for is a 70% to get a C, if you only make 70% of a car how well do you think the car is going to work, and by fixing education we fix proverty. I have no problem with the idea of government, I just have a problem with some of the people in government.

Just because someone doesn't get 90% in calculus doesn't mean they can't build a car.
Some of the not-so-clever people I knew are amazing at cars. Some of the brightest people (school-wise) I know can barely make Kraft Dinner.
There are many types of intelligence, school fails to measure all of them.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend, I'm just saying if someone is going to school to become a surgeon, but the teacher is passing them even though they only got 70% of the information right, think of how that surgery is going to go. Nurse: "Doctor, I think he is waking up!" Doctor: "Don't worry 70% of the procedure is already complete." Patient: " Aghhhhhhh!" Doctor: "Will you shut him up it's hard to concentrate, give him 20 cc of dimerol." The proper amount would have been 30% more dimerol to knock him out. This isn't the right amount and I think I spelled dimerol wrong

well, I'm sure you would have been right, but you would have to agree that the bar is currently set to low, you can tell because when education standards went down so did standards of living, which really isn't a problem if you are okay with a lower standard of living, but the people who do have the lower standard of living are the ones who want it higher.

Can you show proof of the decline of standard of living? If anything I see it going up, so that doesn't make sense to me at all.

8 years ago a gallon of gas costed $1.00 a gallon, and minimum wage was $5.00 per hour, that is only 20%. Today gas costs $4.00 a gallon, and minimum wage is $7.00. that is 57%. Going on this one product inflation has risen 285%, the only way to keep the same standard of living at this rate you would have to lessen you gas intake to 35% of what you buy now. this is of course set on the bases that you buy a gallon of gas for every hour you work, which you probably do if you drive a gas gozzler back and forth to work.

You can't base a standard of living on gasoline and minimum wage alone.
The percentage change in gas (using the values $1 and $4 as you provided) is 400%.
Using the min. wages you provides (which is VERY subjective as that is only one state/province...) the change is 40%.

There are many, many people who do not drive so gasoline prices aren't great. Try finding the price of groceries relative to the average GDP, then we will see.

China is already kind of doing it; I dont see why the western government's shouldn't follow suit to keep the population down (if it ever gets to the point where this is needed).
Sooner or later reproduction will need to be regulated, if not completely stopped, given that people live longer and longer (which means there will be more and more people).

Okay, milk is a stable in most american families 8 years ago a gallon of milk costed $1.75, now a gallon of milk costs $3.50 which going by the previous figures for minimum wage, milk inflation is 42% which means to keep the same standard of living we know have to consume 2/3 of the milk we normally would, if you want to find a different product, I will run the calculations, but inflation is rising in all areas, of couse these are just the prices here in florida, maybe the rest of the country is doing better then we are. that's unlikely since Florida is the 4 most popular state. Why look up gross domestic product, people don't buy gross domestic product, they buy products, and to show a real world change in the standard oof living we have to go on how much people earn, and if what they earn rises higher then the products they buy. But let's go it your way, the states are buying more then they are selling, so GDP is down, here in fanning spring every other person is unemployed, and the ones who have jobs can't afford anything since they only make $750 a month if they are lucky, I am not familar with the term consmer price index, but I guessing that is just a spreadsheet showing prices of domestic products, which is the only thing that has kept steady with income, though that is only because causing inflation on ourselves only hurts us.

GDP is the standard measure of the size of the economy. I really meant GDP per capita.
Consumer Price Index is a measure of the average amount (price) paid for a market basket of goods and services by a typical consumer in comparison to the average paid for the same basket in an earlier base year.
If you take the GDP per capita and compare it to the CPI, you can see how well the country as a whole is doing.

Okay you lost me GDP per capita, that basically means products per person, and CPI is the change in price for those products, well if you look at it through that point of view I guess you would be right, but you removed the factor of the human being, GDP and CPI means nothing when the human being can't afford to buy anything. which is why education is so important businesses forgot the rules of supply and demand they still charge high prices unknowing that they would make more money by lowering the prices.

Look at the average income (either for country or state) and the average CPI. This will tell you much.
I won't ignore supply and demand, that's the key factors of economics. I challenge you to prove to me they could make more money by lowering the prices of, let's say milk, as you used that as an example, to show me if milk is an elastic or inelastic commodity. Or at least look up what elastic and inelastic means, if you don't know that.

I looked at the statistics for Florida (2006-2007), for all items the CPI showed a 6.4% increase in price, the change in GDP per capita was 3.6%. this is only one year statistics, since i can't find anything older. but going on what i see in everyday living the same affect happened every year since 2004.
Milk is one of those items that are unresponsive to price change people will buy milk regardless of price, since as a said before it is a stable in american households, lowering the price will have no effect here, which is why it was a perfect example to show change. So i will pick another one. DVDs it costs about $2,000,000 to make 100,000 DVDs, i can sell these DVDs for $25 a piece, but at that price I will only sell 90,000 DVDs, but if I lower the price to $23 I can sell 100,000 DVDs, by selling them at $23 I make $2,300,000, by selling them at $25 I make $2,250,000, that is a $750,000 difference, and the thing is that due to lack of education they are selling them at $25 unknowing that if they lowered the price they will sell enough more that it will outweight the lower price.

It is absolutely, without a doubt, 100% true that the world as a whole needs to cut down on reproduction, and that doing so would dramatically improve the overall living conditions of the biosphere.
Regardless of the decreased birth rates in a few select countries, the overall growth rate of the entire world population still continues to increase by over 1 percent each year. Now, considering that the human population has already exceeded the earth's holding capacity by 30%, and that 1% of 6 billion is 60 million, it is undeniable that something must be done.
Although I would fully support the idea of regulating reproduction for the good of the planet, it is quite obvious that there is very little chance of something such as this actually happening worldwide, and an even smaller chance that it would succeed. An alternative route would be for the government to provide some sort of incentive to couples who refrain from reproducing, but again, I don't see anything like this occurring anytime soon. If anything, nowadays it's the exact opposite.
In the end my best prediction would be that the population will continue to rapidly grow until we have finally ravaged the earth to the point that it is no longer able to support us. In short, we will be the victims of our own greed, ignorance and/or stupidity, and sadly, so will the biosphere that has given up so much for us.
Is there any actual concrete facts saying we're overpopulated? I mean, with better government, and possibly better technology throughout the world, surely we can support our growing population. We just need to cut down on the greed.

You really twisted what I said. I was referring to mechanics, not those who build cars.

If the "civilised" countries are the only ones that control the birth rates, then soon those countries won't be civilised any more.
I mean, try telling the people in Africa who slaughter each other all the time to stop reproducing.

Ok, but you do realize you'd never meet the requirements yourself, right? This has to be some kind of bad joke.
...
No it won't. Evolution has nothing to do with people with high IQs.
If you want to speed up evolution, you need to keep the population up.
And after we become a dictatorship which requires that citizens have licenses to procreate, NOBODY will immigrate here.
Jesus fuck. I don't think this deserved a point-by-point refutation, but I wanted to address each instance of your stupidity. My god you're an asshole.
You didn't even really elaborate on any of your points. So I won't even consider your shitty argument.

now I know this is a stupid online IQ test, but it has to show at least something. If you want to call bullshit, take the test yourself first.
People should trust those smarter than themselves.
Hey, Faggot, those online IQ tests are a marketing scheme to get you to pay for shit you dont need. If it showed you your true IQ of 80, chances are you'd be less inclined to buy their shit. It's called enticement.

The test was completely free actually, and I have gotten similar scores on paper IQ tests.

Saying that they aren't worth refuting isn't a substitute for actually refuting them.
