I posted this in BLTC already, but someone suggest I ask here instead.

Okay, so I had about 220mgs of 2c-t-7 (suspended in plain tap water) stored in a plastic water bottle for I'd say, oh, about 2 months. I went to go check it out the other day, and damn... the water smelled terrible. Just like this really pungent sour smell, quite unlike what it would normally smell like. So I evaporated the water to turn it back into just the powder, and everything looked fine again, but yesterday I went to go check it out in it's new container (a black film canister) and the powder itself still faintly has that same smell.

What gives?

Did bacteria get in to it, so it's no longer good?

Did leaving it in a relatively unsealed container allow the chemical to oxidize?

Is it even alright to consume, or is it just garbage?

Does anybody have an idea as to what could have happened to the 2c-t-7, if anything?

I have no idea, but I could make a few guesses.

I know 2CT isn't as sensitive a molecule as LSD, but chlorine added to tap water to kill bacteria will destroy LSD. UV light, if it was stored in day light, can cause some more delicate molecules to break down, especially when in solution.

I've left tap water out with codeine dissolved into it by accident, and for some reason its gone apparently mouldy, at least seriously discolouring the water. Could be something similar to this.

There could have been bacteria in your tap water, or very easily in the water bottle in which you stored it. I have no idea if a solution of 2CT makes an ideal bacteria growth medium, but I suppose its possible.

I can't imagine that whats left over is now suddenly poisonous, especially in the amount you'd have to take for effects. I'd recommend trying a very small amount, threshold for effects. If the structure has been changed at all, its most likely that its simply no longer active in any way.

Next time, store in darkness, in boiled distilled water, in a fridge ideally.

Thank you very much for the insight :)
