Is there any alternative to pyridine HCl in the conversion of codeine to morphine? Pyridines highly impracticle since its so toxic and its definitely not OTC. Anyone here heard of any alternatives?

Boron Tribromide. That's also toxic and not OTC, so methinks its not what you're after.
