Why I am personally better than every single military person and reasons why Me>You

1. I work for Woolworths Australia which is a multimillion dollar business that actually spans overseas. It makes its own money instead of sucking tax dollars from the hard workers. I see military idiots as nothing more than glorified job-dodgers and tax cheats that feel they deserve to be praised for associating themselves with the most idiotic concepts of all time.

2. I work in public health. When shit broke out in Asia Christmas 04 with the tsunami guess what branch was called out to help because the all and mighty militaries of this fine world couldn't hack it? That's right, health departments. I predict you might mention military nurses and doctors to which I would spit in the face of and ask what toilet paper dispenser they got their degree like the rest of you. People that *readily* chase money and put their lives at risk :rolleyes: deserve to die if they get shot. Military assholes are doing a job and yet certain people believe you deserve respect, undoubtably the same rednecks that yell at McDonalds workers making minimum wages because they have to wait on fries for their fat asses.

3. Money. I make more money than you and I started off just like everyone of you. Some fag in my other thread said I'm not special...It's true and neither are any of you...So that brings us to the previous point which is why exactly are people bowing and scraping for you and why do you expect it?

4. I live where *I* want to live, not where I'm pushed like a pawn. If I want to travel or to have an 'adventure' (that's just lame, an adventure. Yes you are all regular Indiana Jones' in the army :rolleyes: ) I'll create my own with a real purpose.

5. I have solid mental health. When I was about 14 I considered the military. This was a sign of a momentary lapse in brain function. I soon realised I was unlike other 14 year olds as I was much smarter and I had, what I like to call "A 'regular' (or dumbass) 14 year old moment whereby the thought I was now 14 years old I had the mentality of an army bitch and they would probably take me because I could add 2 and 2 together. This point is also reinforced by my stance on military folk, which is you're all fucking retarded , which also happens to be the correct and just stance.

6. I am not a robot. I control my own destiny, you do not.

7. I haven't been raped and pilaged of my rights as a human being. I can do illict drugs as I so choose responsibly and without fear of discrimination for a choice I can make for myself in life. (See #6)

8. I won't get too old for my job, I have job security. You do not.

9. IF (Huge 'if) I fuck up at work it's unlikely to result in the death of someone or myself. What sort of OH&S policy do you employ in your field. You can't really plan for the enemy being better than you.

10. People want to do the jobs I do. Your 'profession' is full of people shit out of luck. In certain areas doing what you do would be seen as punishment and it is. Look at it this way, you've basically walked into a prison and said 'fuck me over with the works and don't go easy on me'. I'm no sucker for punishment (See #5)

11. Following on from the previous point...I realise how stupid what you do is and you don't seem to, which sucks for you.

12. Only butthurt military faggots dislike me because I make them inferior, people from all walks of life hate you and your freedom surrendering and crushing ways.

@ 2 it's always been common knowledge to me that the army, that is, the belgian army, educates it's people on a very high level.the military often have the best doctors, best sportsmonitors and such. i once saw a short film about the camp in afhanistan where they had a whole advanced hospital deployed for civilians and military personel.

@ 3 a belgian soldier roughly earns about 1300€ a month (without extra's like vacation money, and such) and a 90€ extra while overseas on top of the 1300€ a month so you do the maths if they stay for 6 months

@4 i personally find working in a corporation pretty much senseless, as there isn't much to commit myself to and well, it truely isn't adventurous, it's just plain boring. you won't do things like in the military like skydiving with real professionals, taking commando courses, survival,etc

@5 try joining the belgian army, they're quit selective on who they employ.which is i guess cause of the small size of belgium and it's politics. they can afford set the difficulty high because they don't go to high risk regions YET.the military seems to be hated in america because they have a leading role in this world, the US takes it's responsibilty to act to todays conflicts and they are now in need of alot of manpower, if this would not be done the whole world would, as i see it, get terrorized by extremist groups

@6 i believe everyone controls his own destiny in some degree...like, as myself, would like to enter the armed forces since i was a kid.now i have what it takes caus, again, belgian army is really selective.i had to undergo a full medical exam (ears, heart, Xrays of spinal cord and pelvis i believe? etc,...) out of 25 people 15 left cause of medical reasons ranging from drug use (only dumbasses ruin their lives on drugs cause their lives are boring) to hearing loss or vision or bad posture. and also, someone who is in the army can always quit their job, whatever the reason

@7 drugs are for idiots who are bored in life, don't have a REAL strong mental health because they are DEPENDANT of a certain consumation, which is making other scumbags in this world rich, thanks alot for making the world a more dirtier place for my children.i really hate it when people GLORIFY drugs and certainly that they say they'll never stop using them for their whole life (which won't be long afterall, dealers will have to target younger people because you die to young for them)

actually belgian army did go to the tsunami site...and i don't think they were the only one

the US also sended food and medical supplies to birma i think which happened a month or 2 ago

belgium actually had a minister of defence that is a socialist, which means he's a lefty, which means low risks jobs for our soldiers, and guess what...alot quit, go to the police or even work for contractors or the FFL. that is because they want to do the job they were trained to do at the full aspect

you don't make firefighters to stay and watch a house burn down, do you?just because that way they wouldn't risk their lives fighting fire...same thing for soldiers

Hey trouser, you should do some more research on the military before you post something like this. Lets see, reasons to join the US military at least:
1. Montgomery GI Bill: Under the old law gives up to 30k for school, while you pay $1200 to get into the program. A lot of military members join up for that alone, or the college repayment program that is offered so they can pay off the degrees that they earned.
2. Retirement: At the twenty year mark it starts at 50% of your base pay, in the basic program, paid out every month for the rest of your life. Then if you go with the basic program they adjust it yearly according to inflation, again for the rest of your life. Find me any other employer that offers those kind of benefits, without any contribution on your part besides service.
3. Pay: The pay is not as bad as people believe. If you look at base pay alone then yes it sucks, but your not adding in allowances and incentive pays. Lets see, I make roughly $700 every two weeks in base pay, as an E-2. That is shitty, but also take into account that I have free housing, and at my base some damn good food, for free. Add on free medical and dental, totally free. I have had $10k in dental work done so far, not even a year in, and not had to pay a dime out of pocket. Now onto allowances, if your married or of high enough rank guess what, Basic Allowance for Housing, which depending on the area ranges from a minimum of $1500 to a maximum of $3500 a month. Then you get pays for being on deployment, and if your in a combat zone you pay no taxes on any pays or allowances at all. Adding everything in the pay doesn't sound so bad to me.
4. Intelligence: Lets see, you obviously must believe what the anti-military crowd says. In the Navy, my branch in fact, there are many jobs that most civilians could not even do. Nuclear Technician being the most demanding, then going down the technical ratings to mechanical. Do you know what it takes to keep a reactor under control? How about how to make repairs to critical systems that can make the difference between the life or death of your shipmates? What about how to create and use the weapons that keep ungrateful ingrates like yourself from having to worry about a submarine with nuclear weapons sneaking close and bombing the hell out of you?

I will take a few of your points into consideration, lets see here.
If the military was full of dumb fucks as you say then why is it that when disaster hits in the country we are called in to stabilize and remedy the situation?
If the pay sucks as much as you insinuate then why do people who need to support families and pay for college join because of the money and job security?
If we are all robots then why is it that many of the greatest achievements humankind has made are made by military scientists?

I could debate this all night, as the Navy has given me a life I could not have achieved on my own. The thing is that I have been wasting my valuable liberty writing this up, and do not wish to waste any more of it. We don't need it, we have "free" healthcare(I say free because certain people qualify for certain levels of reimbursment), and workcover, and TAC cover, and VOC comp, and all sporting leagues have their own insurance policies. If I go jump off my house roof when I'm fucked up on drugs, I pay about $90 for the ambulance. Oh wait, I don't. Being an ambulance member costs me $20 a year? So say, between the ages of 18 and 60, lets say it will cost me what, $840? In this country I can make that in a week working in most fields. Sure, it's not free, but the system still works.

My "recent" knee reco due to a sporting injury. Gee, wait, thats expensive. I'm out of pocket $420 AUD, including all medications, surgery, and 3 months off work.

Why work a shitty job for shitty pay to get a shitty pension later on in life? We don't need to, we get paid decent amounts of money for even shit jobs (my best mate makes approx $900USD a week working at maccas. And $350 a week for being in the army is apparently good?) and we get a more than reasonable pension coupled with government funded superannuation.

They bascially will give you anything you want, because they want the most qualified in. You get guaranteed 120K plus getting out. I don't how it is in ausFAILia but the navy/army academy are difficult to get into. Even if you are infantry you can become a private contractor making 100 grand+.
