a good friend of mine has been arrested and charged with misdeamenor larceny..... he illegally entered this country..will he be deported? does it make a difference if its a misdeamenor or felony ?
i heard law varies from state to state ...this is in NY

If they put something called an ICE hold on him than he will be deported.
You live in NY so it can go either way, but I doubt they will.
If it was a felony than he would also be ineligible for citizenship, a green card, and most, if not all, visas.
