Say god become a human and walked the earth as we do. Which profesion would he choose to practice to earn a living? He would likely take the position of judge, as that has been what all societies view god as being: a judge.
I don't believe he would be an inventor or creative writer. Religions may view god as the source of all creation but he most certainly is given this role because he has original juridiction to judge all men.

The best answer to your question is another question: what profession do or would you practice? It is written, and truely I think, that "the kingdom of God is within you". More recently, but no less truely, it was written "I am God; thou art God; all that groks is God."
Prayer is simply a smaller portion of God communicating with the larger portion.

Totalitarian dictator.
Assuming the poster just iosn't trying to be cute, this response reveals a deep ignorance of God, whatever you may conceive him/her/it/them/whatever to be.
We have all been given two great gifts--life itself and free will. We have the power to create our own reality even as we experience it. We do so by our choices regarding what we think, say, and do.
Sadly, many of us--out of fear and/or ignorance--fail to own this power, and prefer to think of ourselves as victims. In the final reality, at the Highest Level, there are no villains, no victims. We all get what we choose.

The town drunk, if that is a profession.
He would be the guy you talk to when your find yourself down and out, rock bottom. You would talk to him b/c he would be laying drunk in the gutter as well.
He wouldn't make much sense, would contradict himself, but in your "rock bottom" state of mind, some of the shit he slurs out, you may construe as wisdom.
