I'm planning on going to law school, but I still have to take the LSAT. I have a Barnes and Noble gift card, but there are several different books on their website and I was wondering if anyone could recommend one.
This is probably not the best place to ask, but I figured I'd give it a shot anyway.

Whichever one has the biggest number of practice tests.

I ordered one with a book, a CD-ROM...or maybe DVD-ROM, and three practice tests.
With the rest of the gift card, I got a used first edition copy of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, Douglas Adams' The Salmon of Doubt, and some book called Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs that someone recommended to me.
Go to www.textbooktorrents.com sign up, search LSAT (or just go to their law category) and pick one up!

Look online at the types of questions they ask. How much do you really think you need that big ass book? I'd say utilize the free resources available on the 'net and sell that giftcard on eBay.

I know this thread is old, but it reminded me of a book a professor of mine recently recommended for anyone planning on going to law school.

That one. "One L" by Scott Turow.

Like everyone else said, online is the biggest resource. A while ago when I was seriously considering law I downloaded TONS of practice tests and shit like that. I don't see how a book is going to help any more than any internet source.
Now a kaplan class (if there is such a thing for law) would definitely be worth your while.

There is, but they'll cost you quite a bit. See if you can get a friend (or just anyone in the class) to maybe secretly tape the class for you, perhaps in exchange for helping out with the price. There's a chance that you'll be able to get away with just sitting in on the class, but don't count on it.
