About eight or nine years ago my brother came running in the house and told me to come outside. He said that there was something in the sky and he wanted to make sure he wasn't going crazy. So I went out with him and I saw what he was talking about.

What I saw was a light that looked about the same size as most stars. I couldn't make out any type of shape connected to the light, I could only see a dot up in the sky. The light appeared to be extremely high up, but again I couldn't see an actual vehicle.

Anyways, I sat outside with him for about 30 minutes watching this light move around the sky. The light stayed within a parameter of space that was equal to my viewing of the Big Dipper. I would flash, stop, and then flash in another part of the sky. The light never moved while lit.

Has anyone see anything like this before or have any ideas on what I saw? I still get a sick feeling when thinking about this, because I have no logical answer. It was not a plane or satellite. I believe there is life out there, but do not know why they would give a rats ass about us.

Because, judging by our research, there are very few populated planets in the universe and possible alien life proberly would like to know what was going on on planet Earth. And apparently they have some sort of affection for carving up our lifestock. As for the light, i would guess satelite or something goverment related. Alot of that stuff have been around lately.

Judging by our research there is only one populated planet known to science .

But what the hell do we know about the universe? We can't make any claims except for whats in our solar system, and the nearby solar systems.

Back on topic, you will never know what it was. Depending on where you live it could have been a government aircraft. Or it could have been an alien space ship. Who knows?

On a very bright night, where i could see literally thousands of stars, its not hard to spot a sattellite, its just like a star but moving at the same speed along the sky, not flashing or anything, theres hundreds of them up there you are guarentee'd to see atleast one.

It probably wasn't a satellite or plane if it stopped. Of course, it might've been an optical illusion, since it wasn't lit it would've been harder to notice if it was moving. It certainly could've been an alien spacecraft, you'll probably never find out.

Did you miss a part of the story...like, maybe you woke up in bed and came to a realisation...it was just a dream!

Probably just a helicopter anyway...

This almost exact thing happened to me when I was about that old except it was much closer and It didnt stay but for a few seconds. It was kind of like the flash of a camera except huge. Like it took a few pictures (not really, im sure they dont need flash:D)
